View Full Version : Are you good at video games (detailed)?

Well, I was just wondering if there are people who suck at video games or pwn them like it was nothing. I had to make a first post somehow, so yeah. I'm an expert at most games. Heck, may even be looking for a challenge ;). Any online game that I may have that maybe you may have, heck we'll play it. (sry for the lame messaging but I'm trying, heh :o).

Heh, I'm pretty good at racing games, but nascar where you drive in a track and stuff... meh, not my thing. Now racing games like grand turismo 3 and Need for Speed: Hot Persuit 2, THOES games rock! Extreme action :D

I guess my issue is that I'm just not that interested in video games at all. I used to play a few way back in the years but I've lost interest (the little interest I ever had). And I don't have time to play video games ... its insane how little time I have :ahh: . If I had any extra time I'm trying to dedicate it to play my guitar.

So the answer is ... no I'm not good at playing video games at all. But its most likely because I haven't tried ... if I actually made an effort on it then I bet I'd be half decent at it  .... or not.

I am good at RPGs, Driving, Flight, and Strategy games.
I suck at fighting games and shooting games, so I guess it balances out to average.

For video games, I go on and off. I like the RTSG the most, like RCT and others. I like playing handheld games the most since you can play them where ever and whenever. It's great, I can't wait for the DS.

I'm pretty good at war games like CoD, RTCW, RTCW:ET, MOH, etc. It's been a while since I've played ET.. but I was pretty awesome at that game. I'm also decent at WC3.. but that's mostly just luck and my other teammates :P

If you leave me alone for an hour or so with the game I can usually stand on my own after that
But I am mainly an RPG guy
Too bad no one has ever come up with a two player version of Final Fantasy Tactics (that would rock!)

I totally agree about Tactics. In my opinion, its the best game ever.

Meh... the ONLY FF game I haven't played, lol. I even tried out the never released japan versions of final fantasy 2 and 3. Who'd knew :)

......But then again, they're hard as hell (or so I've heard, but the strategy on losing and gaining points in specific places intrests me, lol).

I play a lot of Sonic games, so I'm good at those. I played Super Smash Bros. Melee non-stop when I got it, and dominated 99.9% of it. Anything worth the challenge I end up beating in time, but it takes time.

Time time time time time......... Something that is ALWAYS in our painful moments of life. Well, whoever is up for an online challenge at some half-life or DOOM (1 or 2), Quake 3, Quake 2, or Starsiege Tribes, give me a holla :P

Somehow, I feel like im the only one who isnt skillful enough for DDR :(

All I can say is it depends on how much time you have to play the game, and which level you are wanting to play on. I've been playing off and on for over a year, but I don't have very good stamina so I still can't do 10 footers like Max 300 or The Legend of Maxx. Really it just takes a lot of time and a lot of patience to get to the level where you can AA most songs (which means you're shooting for a low amount of greats and goods because DDR runs on a point system. Misses are equal to getting 8 greats, so it's really important to just get goods and greats [goods are equal to greats])

For more info on DDR, feel free to PM me :]

I don't do the whole DDR thing but when it comes to any sports game, I've been known to dish out some serious beating. Madden 2005 is my current expertise. I also like to displaymy skills on the old school games like Tetris and all Mario Bros. and Goldeneye. The games I just am horrible at is Halo and almost all racing games.

I play many games with skill, I am much better at some than others:
RTCW, UT2K4, Doom 3, Halo, C&C, EE, NFS, SCGT, DDR/DWI, Cammandos, Descent Freespace, SC, WC3, maybe others that don't come to mind at the moment.

Used to play/ good at (no particular order): Counter-Strike (Especially knifing), Natural Selection, Hostile Intent, NFS Underground, HALO, Rouge Spear, Day of Defeat. Generally a sniper/camper whatever you wanna call it.
Okay at Starcraft, C&C Generals/Red Alert/Red AlertII, I've gotten pretty tired of RTS games, stuck to FPS for a while, got bored, switched to racing, then just counterstrike and GTA Vice City; pretty much given up majority of game playing for robotics and paintball and a bunch of assorted smaller hobbies. Sometimes I play D2 or CS, but it gets boring really really fast. Also play BF:1942 and DesertCombat, but the long upload times on my slow computer usually annoy me enough to just quit.

I've gotten more into teh gaming scene recently.

DDR is a fetish. I passed LoM and Outer Limits the other day...it was very pleasant. It burned. My foot that is. That is what I get for playing LoM heavy on a Cobalt Flux, it cuts. Anyway.

I'm a supermarioworld fiend, and some N64. Don't mess with me and mariokarts.

I'd be good at Sims, but I get too much innuendo out of it. Then I get distracted. I get distracted very very easily.

I am also a Rollercoaster Tycoon fiend. This Ryan Albright fellow is now my new best friend. Hi Ryan. I wonder if they have RcT online, where you can visit people's amusement parks for real? And like, die if the ride breaks? Oh my! This excites me.

I love Halo and Counterstrike. I can't vouch for my skill in them, but I definitly like them.

I'm also getting into BESM and Ktulu RPGs. The love is felt. A school nearby started a Halo Club, so I may join that to refine my skill.

Nope, I'm awful at most video games. Especially at multiplayer ones, since I usually come out last. My reflexes are fine but i have no hand-eye coordenation whatsoever...simulation games are my strong point but when it comes to racing & the likes it's just no use.
No wonder they never let me pilot our robot :(

Oh...I definately play game gear (every once in a while). It doesn't get too much use these days. It probably gets less use then the ATARI, but most of the games I play are all on the computer.

I have been religously playing Halo since it came out, picked it up that midnight, and started playing, didnt sleep/stop until I beat the game (bathroom breaks excluded or to grab another slice of pizza). I've been playing online before xbox connect even came out. I was setting up VPN's and playing people across the country in no time. Another game I play too much is counter strike. I've been in a few clans, but normally the clans die out. a bunch of my firends and I started a clan called fox-hound, all of us being religous players of Metal Gear. (hence you've probably noticed my avatar is a pic of otacon). If anyone is playing cs, and if you run across the following names, it should be me:

[Fox-Hound]Artic-Fox
MEStudent-Hard@Work

If you guys will remember last year at nationals, I'm the guy who braught about 700 feet of CAT5 in my carry on so that we could lan game down in atlanta. we (our team) braught 2-3 xboxes (cant remember), 2 playstations,
3 lab tops, and I not only braught a xbox, but all the cat5 and switch gear to support a massive network (bigger than needed) I'll again bring my cat5, crimpers, xboxs, games, controllors, tools, and everything needed to use the tvs in the hotel rooms, and to build a intranet to support some awesome lan games. This year we are going to the rockchester regional, and I myself will probably be staying on campus with some friends as im too poor to pay for a room. but if I do decide to stay in a room, I'll let you know what hotel, so we can plan some lan games and the such.

gamecube?I'd personally have to say XBox is the only serious LAN gamer system. PS2 you might be able to get away with. GameCube might get you tar and feathered, if you're lucky. ;)

And PCs are probably the best, but not everyone has one they're willing to drag around...

I've never played CS before, so I can't tell you related to CS, but related to everything else I have played the physics blow everything away, the graphics are about the best there is, the weapon and player models are very good, and the sound is very nice. If you read this it will give you a better understanding- http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/counterstrikesource/preview_6110337.html

You aren't getting new maps or anything though if you already play CS.

As far as other games, I love em'. The ATV series for PS2 is my favorite.

Yes, I am good. haha... RPG/strategy/puzzle game specialist, mostly. Not sure where youd put prinice of persia on there, puzzle game likely. T2T is outstanding...

Though RE Halo 2... I beat it on Legendary and now I never want to play it again. I think I did some serious damage to my eyes in all that time...

*huddles in a corner* I stuck a plasma grenade to his face and he... didnt... DIE! And on the first $@#$@#$@#$@# level! Agh! *still wonders how he pulled that off, but after almost a day straight, shoot, cover, reload is a reflex...*

I still think thats harder than playing on Live, but then I dont even have an xbox... my friend just left it at my house once. I think I play live maybe once a month for like an hour...

And on a completely unrelated note, anyone here on guild wars? im thinking about buying it, but I happen to agree with Penny Arcade's "Greater Internet @^$*wad theory", so I've stayed away from MMORPGs so far... ((You'll have to go to www.penny-arcade.com to see what I mean, its in the archive and its completely true... John Gabriel's GIF theory... I think it's 20040319h. Dunno what that means. 3-19-2004?))

EDIT: yeah, its the 3-19-04 comic

Iwould say th last one.Oh and it depends on that game ;p

but after almost a day straight, shoot, cover, reload is a reflex I play counter strike 1.6. those are my reflexes, and pettey fast to. I play halo 2. im not very good though but my cousin owns with the sword. I play diablo 2 LOD I am a god, with my Zealer pally :D .

I have good reflexes, a quick trigger finger(but sometimes too quick), and the mind to strategize during game play, I can kill many people very quickly usually. I will destroy everything in flying games(planes, jets, spaceships, etc.), and ground fighting games like Draken Guard and Dynasty Warriors, but not very good at fighting games like mortal combat, 2D doesn't work for me. I can also do FPS pretty good, like Halo. Star Wars Battlefront2 I can do well. And there are a few more, but I like to try to limit my posts. I love to be able to blow stuff up anyway , it's always fun to blow stuff up :).

Play CoD2:Big Red 1 on-line alot of the time - but I wouldn't call myself good. Normally just play for the fun of it. Play TRIBES once-in-a-while, but good luck finding a server...

Im really good at at games that require no skill, such as KOTOR because there is knowone to play against. Against people its kind of hard to rate myself because no matter what I say its probobly gona come back and bite me in the butt.

I concider myself an expert at DDR, because I can typically beat Level 7 difficulty songs without much problem (unless I'm really tired).

Mmm, Timesplitters. I am well on my way to true 1337ness with that game. I think it's because the controls are so tight (or that I have a really cool controller:D ) I got Timesplitters: Future Perfect and Soulcalibur 2 for my birthday (2/26). I'm not so good at the latter. I don't like the timer. It adds a bit too much pressure.

What? If you can beat most 10 footers and AAA songs then I would say that you're an expert. Beating 7 footers isn't really all that hard at all.

Halo 3. I've yet to meet someone who can best me with a sniper rifle. I'm also pretty decent at all the CoD games, except I haven't played 4 so I can't give an honest opinion of how good I am at it.

As far a games for me, I go in spurts, one month on one month off kinda thing. With that being said my gaming talent pretty much starts off really bad and then moves up and then I spot playing.

Then again, give me some CS:S(counter-strike:source)and I would pretty much fail high school. Thats has to do a lot with why I took it off my comp as of the beginning of last semester.
