Second time I've seen the Sox in the Series (okay, it was around my first birthday when it happened last). However, I kinda gotta say this:
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
This will go down in history as quite possibly the greatest LCS in baseball history. They were down 3-0, and came back to win 4 in a row. To quote my favorite spaceship captain: "We've done the impossible, and that makes us mighty." (geek points for anyone who gets this reference)
One more for the road:
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Yep, same here. As a Cubs fan I have sympathy for the Red Sox. Let's hope the Cubs front office can go out and get some more talent during the off season like the Sox did.
Next year - Go Cubs
This year - Go Red Sox

I’ll root for anyone that beats the Yankees, because I can’t stand them, and since I’m living near Boston now, and have no ties to The Cardinals or The Astros, I’ll be rooting for the sox :)

It was incredible being in Boston for this. Particularly because I live about two blocks from Fenway Park. After departing a bar after the game I walked past Fenway. Me and about a couple thousand other people. There were so many cops there it was insane. There was riot cops, mounted police and a row of motorcyles about 50 long. Several helecopters flew overhead. News trucks had been here all week and they had their cameras out talking to fans. Right before Brookline Ave goes over the Mass Pike there is a building with a large sign on it (Red Sox sign, I believe). About 10 people climbed up on the building and then to the sign and danced on the sign all while the police watched. People were beeping their horns everywhere you went. Hanging out the windows screaming, "Go Red Sox!"
EDIT: Someone decided to light a car on fire on Boylston Street in front of Burger King. Flames literally engulfed the whole vehicle. The crowd around it kept their distance because everyone thought it would explode. Once the firefighters got there the fire was under control in about a minute.

This story will be passed on by us to our grandkids
*************************************************8
"Grandpap, tell me again about Damon's Curse."
"Well, 86 years ago, their was an evil selfish prig who thot he could buy a World Series whenever he wanted."
"We know better, don't we papi."
"Yes grandson, the poor devil didn't know anything about baseball and he sold his soul to the devil and old washed up pitchers. The God blessed Red Sox took a lesson from the Good Book about faith and heart, even tho they were down 3-0 and only the truly faithful and a handful of sauced customers from Cheers believed it could still be done. They started the Comeback as the evil empire started the Choke. They rolled up their sleeves and went to work with courage and teamwork and Papi's clutch bat."
" But why haven't the Yankees won anything in the last eighty years, papi?"
"Well, God chose a curiously wellhaired young player...
"Damon" squealed his grandson with delight.
"Yes, grandson, God chose Damon as His instrument of punishment on the evil empire and ever since then all the ladies of New York have thick facial hair and their baseball team has endured the Curse."
With that Grandma entered with milk and cookies and said,"You two aren't rehearsing the curse of ARod again are you?"
God bless the Red Sox!!!!!!!!!!!

I LOVE THE RED SOX! i hate the cards and the astros. I love to bet, so anyone who wants to bet The Red Sox will win the world series, bring it lol Yeah, the Red Sox can definetly beat both the cards and/or astros. whoo its about time that the Yankees take a break from playoffs/world series lol
-Court- :yikes:
Go Sox.... The best part is, is that one of my teachers, who is a die hard sox fan on Tuesday said they wouldn't win, and was joking with a kid who had a sox shirt on. I happened to have that teacher again today, and everyone in the class was ranking on him because he said it wasn't gonna happen. His reasoning behind the comment according to him "Reverse Psychology". It was a great day, especially because most of my friends are Yankees fans too.

Yeah Red Sox!!! Way to go and beat the Yankees. I am personally a Cubs fan, but they sucked this year, so I had to find a new Underdog (the Sox). Way to beat the man! I will be in Boston next year (if I am lucky), and I will cheer the sox all the way.

You will never understand how annoying sports fans are until you spend a weekend in Massachusetts (~1/2 hour from Boston) after the Red Sox beat the Yankees for an American League title.
Trust me..
It didn't help that the rental car had NY plates either.
:sigh:
We had a car from CT hold up a sign in their window at us that said BOO!
(Thinking it was just a random act of weirdness, we initially just let it go.)
It wasn't until we saw the huge Red Sox window cling on their back window, and we passed them again and a person in our car pointed out their Red Sox hat to the passengers of the other car that we figured out what was going on.
(Sorry.. Had to throw that in there)
And just for that, I'm rooting for the Cardinals.
(Like I care one way or the other.)
I wanted Houston to be in it just so it could be a Presidential Series.
(Kerry MA - Sox, Bush TX - Astro's)

2-0 baby... red sox on a tear... but honestly... i think St. Louis will take 2/3 at thier house (most likely games 4 & 5 when Lowe and Wakefield will pitch) but even then coming back to fenway with a 3-2 lead with Schilling picthing game 6, and Pedro game 7... if they lose this World Series... I quit life =P...
LETS GO RED SOX \m/

I think your wrong there bigguy,
If you remember correctly it was Lowe who picked up the slack on game 7 vs. the Yanks.
I think he is *one* of the best starters we have,
Schilling is the best we have, then Lowe, then Arroyo, then Pedro, then Wakefield.
I think we will have it 4, but i could always be wrong
I LOVE THOSE BO SOX :D

Noone knows if Schilling's ankle will be able to hold the stitches again. If it can't he won't be able to go.

I thought he had a brace on?
I heard many times that he was undergoing some rarely used procedure (used in children or something, I think?) to stitch up his ankle, which so far has been successful, but the tissue could become bruised or something, and not hold the stitches, causing him to not be able to play.

The team isn't particularly forthcoming with what the exact procedure entails. Here is my understanding gathered from Boston media outlets (which may not be 100% correct):
Curt's tendon is literally wripping away from the ankle bone. The problem is getting worse as the days go on. When the tendon moves it causes him great discomfort. He will need surgery on the ankle after the post season.
To keep him on the mound, team doctors have been using a medical technique where the tendon is actual sutured to the skin to keep it from moving. There is a very unusual technique for them which required them to practice on cadavers. There is a possibility that he may experience an infection or even a career halting injory if he continues to pitch. He has decided that pitching for Boston in the post season is more important than the rest of his baseball career.
They also use a pain killer injected into the ankle to deal with any excruciating pain. He doesn't like too much pain relief or he can't feel the ankle causing him to improperly push off the mound while throwing. Prior to his last start the doctors tried 4 sutures but decided to go with only 3 after Curt woke up in pain the next day. The blood you see oozing through his sock is caused by the sutured tendon pulling against the skin.

I have to say that being in ATO, a big MIT sports frat, for an overnight during Game 2 was amazing... 5th floor, huge window with 60" tv in front... and Fenway 1/2 a mile across the river (in plain view). You could hear the national anthem and the crowd's roar.

Im sooo crying right now. The best tradition in all sports history is gone. I dont know what to do.
I mean congrats to Theo Epstein and all, ive heard about him since he was 21, this guy is amazing, ive never seen as good a mind like his, well Billy Beane(but he doesnt have the money). I wish him the best of luck in his career.
I love boston but hate the sox, they always beat the A's and now the Yanks, but well congrats to the Sox, they more then deserved it, esp for that comeback win. I can be happy that they won, but still it will fill odd without the whole edge year in and year out that the Yanks have.
All i can say now is-free agency starts in 7 days, expect pavano and beltran in a Yanks uniform next year.
edit-i just still cant get over the Epstein thing, he is my role model, and has been for a while, hopefully he makes a book now, and i can make my dream of being a GM come true. I really think he is the reason they won. The mientkiewicz and cabrera deal was genius really, it fit their needs perfectly, and they did beat the best teams in baseball to get here. So i must say-this is a great day for sports.
i really thought DePodesta would beat him out in winning a WS-being as they are both apart of the Beaniac society. The whole moneyball idea is how ive been preaching sports to my friends since grade school. build a team around stats and how they perform together, not star power, its more about how they mold together as one, and push each other to succeed; which is exactly what FIRST is about, and why i love it.

I wouldn't say it was too easy... Fox announcer Tim McCarver said "Everything is going right for the Red Sox and the Cardinals aren't doing anything"
You don't win 105 games in the regular season, come back from from a 3-2 deficit and beat one of the most successful game 7 pitchers in the history of baseball if you aren't good...its simple, the cardinals are good, but the red sox got to them and shut them down.
