Poofs never won one!
The furthest they got was a national silver (in 2001).

I think Bill is talking about team 100 - Woodside, who won a national championship in 1995.

But... they didn't "lead an alliance".
So maybe he forgot about 100, and is refferring to team 232 and/or team 255. (I forget which was the alliance captain) who won nationals in 2000.

I won't ask another question.

They had a robot in the final four in 1992 (Wheeling HS & Motorola), dropped out in '92 & '94, and returned in '95.

Ok, going with the question about the FIRST website:

Answers that i think are correct
1) MV Communications, Inc.
2) Motorola, with a 28.8k modem provided
3) 38 and 716

Now my three part question going back to a 2001 regional.

This alliance, named the "9th Wave Alliance" was a group of teams that surprised many people,

1) who were the 5 teams in the alliance?

and

2) what regional was this alliance a part of?

and

3) what place did they come in at this regional?
