View Full Version : Did anyone do any other things supporting their candidate besides voting?

As many people know, just voting is the bare minimum. Even if you're not of voting age, you can still help get the person who you want elected elected. You can do this by donating to their campaigns, volunteering to do various things, and just talking about why they are good candidates to your friends of voting age. So what have you done?
As for me:
-Called voters in Florida to get out the vote.
-Wore my Bush-Cheney 04
-Talked about politics with my friends and family
-Blogged for Bush and just generally talked about him in my blog.
***These warnings are necessary nowadays: This thread is not about who you supported, but how you supported them***

For those who don't know what the Hatch Act is, it is a federal law that limits the political activity of executive branch employees, and state employees that work with programs receive federal funds.
Details can be found here (http://www.osc.gov/ha_fed.htm).

My contributions to Bush/Cheney 04:
I voted (most important thing)
I put a bumper sticker on my car
I put up 2 yard signs
I attended a Bush Rally in Moosic, Pa at the Lackawanna County Stadium
I attended a Bush Rally in Wilkes-Barre at the Wachovia Arena
I tried to convince friends to vote Bush 04
Yes I saw the President twice!
Looking back I wish that I would have been a volunteer at the Rallies I attended.

I wore duct tape Kerry-Edwards stickers that I made with paint markers, if that counts for anything :o

I had a "My Man Mitch" sticker on my backpack since Aug. and it's still on there today...it's like my trademark now. :]

i wanted nader, which means you either already want him or you dont know who he is or you are a hard core republicliar or demoliar and nothing will change that. the only thing i did was talk about him a lot and this nifty thing in my signature i had for a while that i had to change. Ill just tell you, it used to say vote_ader.or_ (took two letters out, you get the picture.)

I was out front of our City Hall(past the 150ft mark of course) supporting Dave Nault for MA state rep in leominster, MA.
I held signs and waved and talked to people....plus i made up a song...it goes:
MYYYYYYYY STATE REP HAS A FIRST NAME IT'S D-A-V-I-D
MY STATE REP HAS A SECOND NAME IT'S N-A-U-L-T
I LOVE TO VOTE FOR HIM EVERYDAY, AND IF YOU ASK ME WHY I'LL SAYYYY
CAUSE DAVE NAULT SHOULD BE OUR S-T-A-T-E-R-E-P.
i sang it wayyy too many times.....your turn: name that tune!
