Hey everyone. A few of us have been trying to plan a get together for FIRSTers in Western/Central CT. We have decided that with the winter season, Snowboarding would be the best way to, and the most fun too! This is not a fundraiser, but rather just a day that people can get together before the new season starts.

We want to do this the weekend before the build starts, so our tentative date is January 1. We will be going to Mount Southington (http://www.mountsouthington.com) in Southington, CT. We are willing to start at any time after 9, depending on the schedules of attendees. Even if you are a beginner, feel free to come and have a good time. A bunch of us are skilled and willing to show you how to start.

If you are interested in this, please contact either myself, ScottShaw237 (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/member.php?u=3039), or K.Shaw (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/member.php?u=2978) via AIM or PM.

Please Note, Date and time of this event are SUBJECT DUE TO CHANGE IN WEATHER!!!

Weee.. sounds fun. Looks like I need to not only just find a job, but one with medical insurance, cause you all know me.. :p

Anyways, sounds like a cool idea. Count me in. Maybe...

This sounds like fun! The wuss "mountains" of CT are about all I can handle. :D

Will it be OK if I ski? Or will I be made fun of...

We have several people, including Jay H. 237, and Kurtbot who are going to be skiing, so you may ski also.

For non-237 members.. 237ers, you know where to meet.

Anyways, I am going now!! ya!! I got some cash, and I'm ready to hit the slope for the first time ever. Starting the new year off right with a new experience.

Wish me luck, and if anyone wants to go, there are still openings. PM myself or K. Shaw with your info, or just show up at Mt. Southington at 11am and look for us somewhere.

I'm sure at least one of us will be sporting some FIRST gear of some kind.

Well.. we all had a fun time (all seven team 237ers who showed up), and we only had one injury today. Just a little ski in the face accident. :ahh: But they are ok..

It was a shame no one from any other teams showed up, but stay tuned, we may have another FCSE outing in the future.

If you are interested, post some dates here that would work for you.

We were maybe talking about the weekend after the end of the six weeks, or sometime during the six weeks.

Suggestions for dates are always open though.

Yesterday was a lot of fun, except for crashing. :p I can’t wait for the next FCSE and I hope more people will show up!

If there is still snow up there during the UTC regional weekend, there should be a snowboarding trip on the Sunday after the regional. I may or may not be coming to UTC, but if I do, I'm game for snowboarding.

So how did the 2nd CT snowboarding/skiing experience go? As for this weekend, anybody up for some crazy-sledding down a 250ft hill? (ATVs bring you to the top). The flight park I fly at is having a winter gathering on Feb 5th and it should be a lot of fun.

http://www.mountsouthington.com/

About 70 bucks for a day pass and rental.

35 for just a day pass, and about 35 for a rental.

Last time I went, I spent 76 dollars on rental and food for the day.

And I'm still waiting for the ER bill from that whole episode..

That's why I am not partaking in any more F.C.S.E. activities this season. :(
