Greetings Teams:

We have received a number of really great proposals for the 2005 FIRST Robotics Conference, but we would like to receive more. The deadline for submission has been extended to Friday, January 7 (one day before the FIRST Robotics Competition Kick-Off).

One-hour workshops on topics of interest to FIRST Robotics (FRC) and FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams, robotics educators, coaches, mentors, students and prospective leaders will be accepted. You may present alone or as a team.

The primary goal of the conference is to provide personal and professional development for K-12 educators, non-engineering mentors, technical mentors and students.

We encourage presentations in all technical and non-technical areas that might interest current and future FRC and FLL teams and coaches. This year, we have a special interest in presentations about diversity and encouraging underrepresented groups to participate in engineering opportunities. We are still seeking presentations on the following technical topics: Motors & Transmissions, Mechanical Appendage Design, Drive Base Design, Overall Robot Design, C Programming and Animation.

For more information about the Conference and to download the full requirements for submitting a proposal, please visit us online at http://www.usfirst.org/robotics/2005/Call_for_Proposals.pdf .
