Alright, so it's Christmas. So I'm showing some goodwill (and invoking the Billfred Is Working Way Too Freaking Much Rule as well) and posting it early. The deadline is still next Friday at 9:00 PM.

Elgin: YES! I got my funky Safety goggles on... Bring it on Fluffy (team 180's robot). Wait... turn 45 degrees left when you come close to me and go straight. ::evil laugh::

Sheesh, every time we bring Elgin somewhere, we lose him. First in Times Square, and now even before we left the playing field! That kid needs a cell phone. ;)

YES! The balls are in place! Now all we need is an 8 ft. long 1 ft. dia. yellow plastic tube and our practical joke will be complete! *Elgin peeks head up over ball* What's that you say? FIRST has never used 8 ft. long 1 ft. dia. yellow plastic tubes as game objects? Aw nuts, guess I'll have to wait for the 2005 game in order to complete this prank - right Dave? ;) In the meantime, I'll just have to go grab that 2001 goal and lay it on its side....

In the new effort to please everyone in the Pit area - this is a new experiment. They are currently making "Flatulence Bubbles" to help get rid of the "Eau FIRST PIT" odor. Aparently the current people sited thought it would be funny to allow the robots to pop the bubbles - making a horiffic smell when playing.

"Like the legends of the Lock Ness Monster and Big Foot, the hideous and elusive Yellow-Ball Serpent of FIRST is known to prowl the back stages of the regional guarding its yellow embryos.
No photo have captured this elusive creature until now! (Of cause it has to wear safety glasses, this is FIRST, NO exception, mystical or not mystical!)"

(sorry, Elgin, u r not hideous ;) )

And now we see two nerds in their native environment, very protective of their gathered field objects. It would be very dangerous to approach them now, as we can see the larger male is displaying aggression.

Somebody told Elgin it would take some major balls to figure out the 2006 game hint, so he's getting ready to roll!

Sheesh, I REALLY gotta get these warts cut off...
Scratch that, I like this one better:

Person on the left: "Sheesh Elgin, how come I always get stuck being the BACK END when we dress up as a 'Big Lumpy Yellow Caterpillar Thingy' for Halloween?!?"

Dorienne

Elgin: "Hey Mini-Tytus, want to play peekaboo?" *ducks down, comes back up* PEEKABOO! *ducks down, comes back up again* PEEKABOO!

"Mentor Cloning a Qualified Success"

(CD) Researchers at DEKA corporation revealed the latest results of their ongoing experimentation with FIRST mentor cloning yesterday. Shown here in the incubator are the remaining eggs, with 1 mentor who has already hatched and 1 student who apparently hatched prematurely; several others appeared ready. "Our deadline was January 8th, 2005 so we're pretty pleased" said head researcher Dr. L. Ginclock. "Although they still appear somewhat disoriented, the behavior is somewhat expected since mentors don't like to leave the familiar surroundings of FIRST equipment. We have trouble getting real mentors to leave in between seasons also."

According to Dr. L. Ginclock, the mentors were cloned from the blood, sweat and tears of mentors from a previous chairman's award winning team, Buzz Robotics. "They retained the familiar bright yellow color, but some of the other attributes were apparently affected by the magic smoke and Lithium grease we mixed in." The first 2 clones appear to act more like a Sie-H2O-Bot mentor and student, Ginclock said. "It's still a Connecticut team, so we're not too far off."

This, ladies and gentlemen, is what happens when you have a New Year's Eve show, plus six hours of work, plus getting your car back together.

Of course, if you argue that WUSC is work (which, IMHO, it is), then I can always invoke the Billfred Is Working Way Too Freaking Much Rule. So, um, yeah.

Either way, first place goes to...

Somebody told Elgin it would take some major balls to figure out the 2006 game hint, so he's getting ready to roll!
And second place...

I know I'm late but I couldn't resist.

Hatched on time, the Blue Eyed Safety Bird. Native to FIRST events and taken off the endangered species list.
