View Full Version : Fantasy FIRST Basics
Well now that the 2005 game has been unleashed I can give my blessing to this year's version of Fantasy FIRST (it's first full season).
A few requests if you folks are looking to start up your own leagues.
*If at all possible could you fill up leagues as much as possible instead of starting up a bizzilion leagues and overwhelming Chiefdelphi.
*As a matter of fact you don't need to run your draft could you possibly run it via e-mail or IM to also keep from filling up CD (you can also run a league within your own team or amongst friends.
So here are the basics to start up a league:
1. All allainces are comprised of 3 teams
2. You can pick from a pool of the teams available at whatever event until all the amountof teams that divide into 3 are split up.
3. No competitor is allowed to have an alliance of more or less thatn 3 teams.
4. No trading teams for team shirts, cans of Moutain Dew or any non-Fantasy FIRST items. Only one robot for one robot (or two for two or three for three)
5.Scoring can be done as you see fit (though I'd suggest going with the Won?Lost record)
6. Have fun!

i propose rule number 7,
you cannot control your own team. this would make it more intresting.

You mean you are not allowed to draft your own team?
Well that certainly could be a variation.

That's just plain nuts (though unaviodable at Finger Lakes). Does that include the rookies too or are you just going to load up with the Xerox allinace (191, 1126 and 1450)?

The one thing I've learned about Fantasy sports : pick with your head not with your heart. Pick teams that you know can win not just teams you know or like. Of course, you can always take your own team... :p

Do those three participate in any regionals together (outside of the championship which they may not end up in the smae division. 67 is too close to 71).

Yes.
67 and 71 were going to be at West Michigan with my team.

Ah.
Well the only way you are going to end up with all 3 of those teams is if you're in the league by yourself. You might get one. Maybe two but not all three.

When you play Fantasy FIRST you draft three teams that you want for your allaince. 67 and 71 are premium teams and will not even last to your second pick and 141 probably wouldn't last all that long niehter. It's tough getting your "target teams" even in small leagues.

you are ever so nice oh great one. *snickers and finally bursts out laughing* 141 will not be trounced if I'm not on the drive team, I've got a tendency to crash things.
