I received a nice surprise at our meeting today - our programming team was handed two shiny, new 128 MB Lexar jump drives to be used in whatever ways we feel best. I was able to take one home with me because I volunteered to fill it with useful files. The intent of giving us the drive was to allow us to move code between our homes and meeting sites; since the four other members of the group and I all have our own jump drives, I've decided that loading this one up with anything that could be necessary for our team would be a good idea.
What I'd like would be suggestions as to what I should put on it. I've already got a few ideas for what will be going on it; as I have more ideas, I can edit this list and add files sizes to it as well. If anyone wants to use this as a basis for their own project, feel free to.
Now...the current list (updated on 1/15/05):
Portable Firefox (10.1 MB)
Firefox Extensions (371 KB)
MPLAB Install Files (24.3 MB)
IFI Loader (4.6 MB)
Dashboard (4.55 MB)
CMUCam2 Documents and Software 1 (4.2 MB)
Camera Board Markings (114 KB)
2005 RC User Default Code ver2.4 (101 KB)
2005 RC Master Code (71.7 KB)
2005 Navigation Demo (from Kickoff) (357 KB)
FIRST Rules and Field Elements files (3.21 MB)
FRC 2004 RC Default Code Reference Guide (61 KB)
2004 Programming Reference Guide (173 KB)
PIC18F8520 data sheet (3.34 MB)
PIC18 family reference manual (11.4 MB)
C18 user's guide (758 KB)
C18 libraries (6.62 MB)
C18 getting started guide (1.27 MB)
7Zip Installer (920 KB)
Crimson Edit Installer (1.19 MB)
FileZilla Installer (4.36 MB)
Metapad Installer (46 KB)
PuTTY Installer (372 KB)
If I'm not mistaken, all of the files are either ZIP files, PDFs, or executables.
According to Windows, I have 31.8 MB left on the jumpdrive.
At the moment, I can't think of anything else to put on the drive; I think the posts in this topic have covered my oversights well, but I'm still more than willing to take suggestions.
If nothing else, maybe my list will be able to help inspire someone on another team to set up a similar set of files. You never know when they could be useful, after all... :)
