I'm having a problem with 3ds max 6.
Every time I start the program, it locks-up whenever I get to the mentalray.dlz plugin. I've updated to SP1, reinstalled max, and made more disk space. What makes me angry is that it stopped working without any warning!
Has this happened to anyone else? What can I do to fix it?
Specs:
Toshiba Satellite A65-S126
XP Home SP2
2.8 GHz Celeron
256MB RAM - 64 for ATI M-Rage 7000
55GB Harddrive - 6.8GB Free

I have a solution.
Open the max install directory c:/3dsmax7/plugins and delete the faulty plugin. Next, go back to the max directory c:/3dsmax7 and delete the file called "3dsmax.ini". This will reset the plugin loader, as well as anything else you may have changed in max. If you really need that plugin, try re-installing again. But, it should work just fine without it.
AIM me if you need more help.

Yeah, I just added an "_" to the end of the mentalray plug-in file.
Now my problem is that I can't move the license back to my desktop. On my desktop, every time I run the Portable License Utility, it gives me this error:
Invalid License Information
Error code:[14.1.10]
I think it's because I tried installing the ADA software, and I installed AutoCAD out of sequence. (Nobody told me the it was in the Revit case. )
Oh, well. I'll try installing SP1, and if that doesn't work, I'll just uninstall all Autodesk and Discreet software, and reinstall 3ds max.
I just need to start modeling. :ahh:
