Every week, my friend and I make weekly videos based on the team's progress of this year. They are both "serious" and comical. Check out Week 1 with Bon Jovi's song "It's My Life" at www.shsrobotics.org/05.
I plan on doing a nationals video as well. You just never know, maybe you'll be in one.....................

It's good. :D When can we expect another one?
My first post...I don't know if anybody's supposed to care, but...

The sound for it cut out after 26 seconds. Is it a problem with the video?

It's a cool movie but maybe you should have more talking in it.

The "Week 2" video will be out by weeks end, and the music selected is Linkin Park's "Don't Stay". In the video, you will eventually see our protoype being driven around....sounds exciting. Like innovativechic said, visit our website and get to know the team better. Thanks to all who watched the first vid. You guys rock.

It's been a couple weeks and still nothing. Having any problems, because it's been several weeks since the last one and you said it would be weekly?

week two is finished, and week three is almost completed. we also have a couple of humorous robotics-related public service annoucements for everyone. we're waiting for the files to be converted into a format suitable for uploading to the web, and then we'll post the links. :D
it took alot of courage for me to do what i did in PSA #1....whenever you guys get to see it, just remember...... :(
good work...I wait to see the second movie.... :)

we have four new videos up - week 2, week 3, psa 1, and psa 2. downloading may not work - the zip files are being weird. but the videos themselves work. go check them out! go to http://shsrobotics.org, click on media in the menu, go to the video gallery, and click either weekly build videos or psas. :)

The only problem I ran into was that the PSA's weren't found. Other than that, great videos and awesome robot. I know you aren't done, but it looks like the tetras could easily be pushed off of your robot by another robot.
Looks like your progress is pretty good robot-wise. I'm curious to know more about how it works... does it pick up tetras on it own or is it human loader compatable only? and how many of those tetras can it stack down at once? any functionability with the tall goals?
i really like the design and best of luck with your next three weeks.

we use the manual loading zone, no human player zone needed. :D we can also pick tetras up off of the floor. it can pick up tetras one at a time, put up to three on the robot, and then stack all three. we can stack on the center goal, and are practicing our timing for stacking the vision tetra in autonomous mode. ;)
also...

we're working on the tetras' protection within our robot. a robot, however, would have to be pretty specific in its height and mechanisms if it wanted to push them off. :o
the PSAs will be fixed as soon as i can get to the internet - our computers at school have internet access, but we can't put our files on them. and my computer has the files, but can't be hooked up to the school's network! :ahh: hopefully they'll be viewable soon. ;)
wow what a bot. I'm truely impressed, and only half way through the season, looks like you'll be in good shape for this years competition season. Congrats.

alright, all of the links work. all of the videos should be available for viewing and downloading, -including- the public service announcements. there has also been an update in our robot section, concerning our robot specs, etc, in case anyone is interested in finding out more.
the week four video is almost done, and once it is formatted as a .wmv it will be up on the site! :)

I watched all the new videos. The PSAs are great. I hope there'll be more. "30,000 polys? The car doesn't have 30,000 polys!"
And, yes, that tetra stacking mechanism is impressive.
yeah, we had one more PSA coming, but we have to trash it i think.....it was about recalled tetra merchandise.......we had to stop production after the "tetra mobile home" part of the video after one of the mentors saw us filming a tetra goal being pulled away by a car >:D..... wish you guys couldve seen it

PSA outtakes, huh? You could also have the long version of the caffine one. It looked like it was going to get pretty exciting when he started jumping around. :D That video reminded me of a quote from RvB: "They shall taste oblivion. Which tastes like Red Bull. And that's just sick."

It seems like there will be no more PSAs, after last week when a group friends and I made the third installment invovling "Recalled Tetra Merchandise". We went a little to far on one of the items. But there's no reason to fear! More weekly videos will be posted, a special Regionals video, and a National video are coming as well. Aside from those, there will be some special videos along the way. The PSAs were fun, but it had to end. Thanks to all who enjoyed them, and keep coming back to the website, www.shsrobotics.org, for updates.

Good News. 2 new weekly videos are finished, are about to be placed on the site this week! Week 4 uses Madonna's "Die Another Day", and Week 5 uses Muse's "Time is Running Out". The Week 5 video is the longest thus far this season, at over 4 minutes. Check back at the site!
