I have been put in charge of all the non-mechanical aspects of robotics, particularly, the Awards team Leader. Do you know what "Yearbook Page" means? Is it the yearbook page of my school's yearbook or a page of a nationwide FIRST yearbook? Or is it both? I need help before I accidentally mis-subcontract that job to my school's Yearbook staff.

The Yearbook page is something that your Team Adult Leader must submit via TIMS ( Team Information Management System)

On our team the students filled it out. The Yearbook is a page reviewed by the Judges before the Chairmans/Rookie All star interview.

The yearbook page is different than the program book. There will be one master program book with ALL the teams listed and listing judges and teams, available at regionals.

I would recommend that you fill out the yearbook page for a number of reasons. It will help the judges. You never know what awards you might be considered for. This is probably the only way that FIRST can gather much of the demographic information and it will help them. Also it forces a team to write a concise blurb about the team, gather statistics and answer some tough questions like what are your goals and strengths? Once written, the information can be used many times. For example, team history can be used on the website, for press releases, for grant proposals. It's like a lot of things on the "business" side of FIRST; do it once the right way and then that stuff can be modified and used again and again, thereby saving time in the future. Hope this helps.

The above was written 2/04. Lots of threads about yearbook page. Yearbook page is listed under "judges info" on the TIMS. Can be filled out over time and by anyone who has access to the TIMS, adults or students, if that is ok with the main team contact.

To the originator (South River High),
1) You can get an Excel template for the questions on the Yearbook page HERE (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/papers.php?s=&action=single&paperid=417).

2) I developed that form as a way to get everyone on the team, ESPECIALLY the students to come up with some draft verbiage on what to say for the yearbook page. That page will be used by the judges; so it is IMPORTANT to have it filled-in and well-done.

3) You can use the form and pass-it-around to team members, collecting their input. Then, your team leader (who has the password permission to the online TIMS system) will upload your text to the system. That MUST be done by February 23rd at 5pm.

ps: There is a similar template in the "white papers" section of this forum to do the same thing for the Chairman's award draft version(s).
