Since I feel bad for poc2 because of all you're making fun of it, I'll say something cool about it.
Did anyone notice that diadora's necklace or ring or whatever was the same symbol as on davy jones's music box? Is she the woman he fell in love with? She's certainly untameable.
I thought it was a little long, but funny and action packed. But elizabeth and her little triangle is pissing me off.
Oh and yesterday I saw Saw II. I liked it, not as scary, but not a bad sequel. Can't wait for the 3rd one, but hope its the last, the premise is getting a little old.

I would go see World Trade Center... but... okay... I lied. I will never see that movie. The previews made it look like another tragedy turned into a romantic movie. Never again will I see a movie that does that. This event SHOULD NOT be dramaticized in the theatre. This is why I hate Hollywood.
Just my $0.02.
On another note: I watched Kingdom of Heaven the other night... again. Great movie. I love it. I'm going to watch whatever movie my girlfriend brought over today. I forgot what it is.

So I realized that my post above kind of gives stuff away, whoever is in charge of such things can edit it if they wish.
And I also realized that I said I'd say something cool about the movie, but I didn't say anything positive.
So here I go,
It did its job of getting me excited for the third one beautifully. It also made the characters more realistic. It shows the flaws in the characters. In the first movie everyone had just met so their friendship was new and very short, they didn't have time to show their flaws and true character.
Well, I just watched V for Vendetta last night. Pretty good. Lots of nice pyrotechnics. :D
They made a few changes from the original graphic novel, although I'm not familiar enough with it to tell you just how much. From what I hear, in the original story it was very ambiguous as to who was good, V or the Party Leader, while in the movie it's pretty obvious V's the good guy.

I saw Talladega Nights tonight... kind of an odd movie, not nearly the comedy they try to make it be in the ads for it... but good anyhow... maybe not quite as good as Anchorman (hey, Anchorman had a cat fashion show, hard to beat that...). Oh, and for those who leave before the credits end, there is a scene at the very end of the credits...

The Boondock Saints.
I loved it.
Now watch it 50 more times. THE GREATEST MOVIE IN THE WORLD!
I saw Pirates of the Carribean 2 lastnight and everyone was right. I didn't expect it to end so... abruptly. And the fact that the two people sitting next to us were making out and "fooling around" (I think) didn't help. Did I mention they were the other couple on the double date? I swear, kids these days.

Just watched Benchwarmers. Thought it was hilarious and it's kinda funny to see a movie character named after you when your name is Clark (I don't know too many Clarks).
Monster House
A short but sweet monster movie for the kids that comes across as a bit too Amazing Stories-ish for it's own good but it works well up until the end where it gives in to it's sentimental roots that plague kids movies and tries to clean up the ending so not to disturb. Too bad really. A little darkness wouldn't have hurt in my opinion.
My Super ex-Girlfriend
Another film that is a better concept than a film. It never really takes off and it fumbles along all film long and there's nothing that really sticks out. Very disappointing.
The Ant Bully
Surprisingly enjoyable and well designed film with an engaging and endearing performance form Julia Roberts (who I usually cannot stand). I enjoyed the inner workings of the anthill colony and how their society works. It gets boggy near the end (I feel the writers had no idea how to end it) but overall highly recommended.
Now watch it 50 more times. THE GREATEST MOVIE IN THE WORLD!

At least you didn't have some woman cackling helplessly throughout the film as if she overdosed on laughing gas.
If I wanted a laugh track with my movie I would've stayed home and watched a sitcom for free!

No matter how hard I try to ignore people that do this, it's nearly impossible. The last time I went to a movie with these two, they sat in front of us and the guy threw popcorn behind him until I asked him for some and took the bag away. That's the bad thing about the theater with $5 tickets and free stale popcorn and watered down pop. Last night was the last time I'm going with them.
Anyways, I just finished watching V for Vendetta. It's a really good movie. I like it. The explosions are amazing. Heh. "Remember, remember, the fifth of November..." I love that. Now off to see Boondock Saints for the 83rd time.

I just saw one of the worst movies ever made over the weekend. Nick Cage in "Wickerman". It just goes to show you that there are still amateur film makers out there who prey on the movie going public. The makers ended up with a 45 minute feature so they added tons of nonsensical and unrelated subplots to fill time. Flashbacks are OK when they tell part of the story. Here the flashbacks had nothing what so ever to do with the plot. Stay away!

Glory
Morgan Freeman
Denzel Washington
Matthew Broderick
My daughter will be writing a paper for History and checked out some movies to watch for inspiration and to help her decide her topic.
I had watched Glory before. It is about the spirit of the 54th Regiment of Massachusetts.
Flight Plan
Very cool movie. My favorite part was actually in the extras, where they show how they made the plane.
Apollo 13 GREATEST MOVIE EVER!!!
OK, maybe not the *greatest* but most definitely my favorite!
Equilibrium
Its really cool basically take alot of ideas and forsights from 1984 and Fahrenheit 451 then a little Matrix style action and your good to go.

The Illusionist.

Great cast, great movie in general.
plus, I love Edward norton.

Princess Bride. Gosh, that really is one of the best movies ever.
Miami Vice
This movie really has nothing to do with the well-known show from the 80's other than the characters names and that's a good thing. I thought the show was a bit gaudy and had a bit of a cheese factor going that this movie did away with early. It's gritty and brutal but some of the performances are stiff (like surprisingly Jamie Foxx) and the ending is abrupt and feels like Mann had no real idea how to end it. It's good but it feels like Jan to Colleteral's Marcia.
B
Crank
Crank is like a mashup between Jackass and those trendy high octane crime pics from Guy Ritchie. The best thing about the movie is that it never slows down and the main character is an unlikable anti-hero who they thankfully do not try to soften even at the end. The Chinatown scene is this year's puppet sex. A riot.
B
The Deaprted
A brutal, funny, suspensful, well-written well acted masterpice. I see multiple Oscars comming this films way. Perhaps this will be the one that Martin Scorcese finally breaks though and get the trophy he so richly deserves.
On a side note I watch the movie with my wife and her friends. One who's son is in the film as an extra (he was one of the cadets at the beggining of the film). They were having quite a good time trying to ID Nick.
A+
im a bit of a movie person so ill name the ones i saw last week alone. :P

So, the front of this movie reads "Best Comedy Since 40-Year Old Virgin." I love 40YOV and was a little skeptical. But Thank You For Smoking was amazing. The best satire I have ever seen.
I bought X-3 for the extras... I've already seen the movie, and plan on watching it 50 more times (in a perfect world).
I went to a friends house Thursday night... we watched a bunch of movies.
1. Space Balls - great, even after the 20th time
2. Resevoir Dogs - I STILL don't like Tarantino...
3. Sick - mix of a "C" movie and cheesy adult film
4. Hook - started watching it, but left in the middle. Still a good movie.

I just got back from seeing Little Miss Sunshine in theaters. Easily the best movie I've seen all year (but certainly not one for the younger audiences).
Well, let's see...the last movie I saw in theaters was Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, but the last movie I watched was Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. I must have this thing for action movies with long titles. :p

Be warned, You need to watch movies, as many as possible, people coming in will ask you how good a movie was, what awards has it won, is it more like movie A or Movie B, etc. People also have a bad habit of asking for tickets with out knowing the name of a movie, for example, Can I have 2 for that movie with Nicholas Cage in it, or worse Will Ferrel, come on he did 6 movies in 2005. Some times people even ask, for the movie with that guy from another movie. Try to figure out what movie people want to know "Do you have the movie with that guy from wedding crashers" Of course that could be Click(Christopher Walken), You me and Dupree(Owen Wilson), The Break Up(Vince Vaughn), or even Talledega Nights(Will Ferrel), all of which had previews out at the same time. Any way, get to know your movies, and if you don't know them then find out who does, nothing solves you being stumped better than, I'm not sure but you can ask the person ripping tickets, he is usually pretty good.
Any way, back to the topic, I saw an early screening of School for Scoundrels, my initial reaction was that it was good but once I digested it I realized it really wasn't good at all, if you want a quick laugh go see it, If you want a hysterical movie that you will quote later then keep waiting for Blades of Glory.
I finally bought Airplane, It is amazing, if you haven't seen it then do it, now. Better yet, rent it, caddy shack, Animal House, Stripes, and Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy grail, and then have a weekend in your house.
I am a little behind on movies because I am away at school but I will catch up when I go home.

The last movie I watched was a Sundance film (British) called Dirty Filthy Love. It's about a man with OCD and Tourettes Syndrome dealing with divorce and other relationships... found it in the comedy section of Blockbuster and while I will admit there were some funny parts, I do not consider it a straight-out comedy because some parts were very, very sad.
It was a good enough movie to make me take risks on other Sundance films (in other words, I liked it)

DVD: Team America World Police. First time watching it- very funny.
In the theater: Borat. What a great movie. I love smaller budget films that are unique and totally blow out big budget (big actor) movies.
Open Season
A humerous little movie that comes a little too close to the much better Over the Hedge for my taste. There are a couple of outright guffaws (the Elliot ruined Bear show for one and the dam break) but mostly nothing really stands out that can be commited to long term memory. C
Happy Feet
I was surprised by this little gem. It's a very simple story (be yourself no matter what everybody else says and you'll end up changing the culture) told in a very unique manner with the odd music mashups. It was quite fun to watch.
This movie made me smile and was my favorite movie from last year. A+
The Pursuit of Happyness
Happyness is definately a vehicle for Will Smith to show off his acting skills. And he is very good here. Definately award worthy marterial. Good work from his son Jaden as well.
The movie is a bit grim but has a streak of hopefullness throughout it. It ends very abruptly but not a bad way to spend time at the movies. B
Prestige
It's official: Christopher Nolan is my favorite director.
THis twisty turner little mind bender that challnages the audiance as well as entertains them is power by terrific performances throughout from the high caliber cast. Particularly Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale who are amazing in the film! A+

I think I attempted to watch American Commandos. I bought it with another VHS for like, three dollars. Well, it was produced in like, 1984. It's terrible. Never watch it. Not only is it one of those extremely unrealistic war movies where the people will shoot an M16 in each hand, but the acting is miserable... I mean, I was almost embarrassed to watch it myself. I bought the movie Unholy along with it. Produced in 1987 I think. Meh, it'll be just as bad. My advice to you, don't buy movies made before 1990.

Casino Royale was quite possible one of the best Bond movies I've seen in a long time. The actor (his name has slipped my mind) is very good in playing James Bond, lady man with a license to kill:cool: . My favorite scene was the free running part, that, or the torture seen... I could feel the blows on that one *cringes*
To keep on topic, a movie I just finished (for the 100000000th time), was V for Vendetta. Awesome movie. I highly recommend it.
just recently i watched Borat and did not think it was worth the money to go watch it in theaters

There is a TON of lawsuits and controversy over that film... I heard it was funny, but there's a lot of offensive material. Just a warning.
Sliding Doom into the DVD player. As a fan of the game, this movie rocks.
(it even stars The Rock)
"Who killed the Electric Car"
Gotta love Documentaries.
I watched Blood Diamond on Sunday night with my girl friend and it was a really good movie great action scenes and is pretty historically accurate according to a co-worker that watched the movie and was also a medical relief worker where and when the movie is made to look like.
The best part is after watching where diamonds can come from my girl friend doesn't want anymore so now I can finally afford that new iPhone!
Great Movie 5 stars by my vote.

Has anyone seen Curse of the Golden Flower? I love foreign films, and this was one of my favorites. Great drama about the Imperial family; it was amazing! Lots of blood and nightmare-inducing scenes, though o___o.
It's not playing in very many theaters because it's subtitled... But everyone go give it a try anyway! ♥

Night at the Museum
Meh, it was alright. I wish they had decided on their audience so they could have focused the jokes better. If they were aiming for the kids then we had an incredible load of unnecessary back-story-love-triangle-poor-divorced-dad. If they were aiming at a more mature audience, then the gags with monkeys peeing are completely uncalled for. It's a very unique plot, I was just disappointed that they didn't do more with it.
That stuff aside, it's a fun plot (w/ holes), and there are towards the end of the movie there are some genuinely funny scenes.
===
Bad guys speed off. "Oh great! How are we going to find them now? They could have gone anywhere!" They rack their brains out, argue, and then get a brilliant idea, rush back into the museum enlist the help of indian guide Sacagawea. They rush back outside. Looking at the tracks she says "They traveled north... obviously they were in a great hurry... and then they crashed and continued on foot..." "WOW! You're amazing! How did you possibly figure that out just from looking at the tracks?"
(Camera pans to the left where a black van has crashed about 200 feet away, Sacagawea rolls her eyes)
==
Final score? 6/10
-Chris
Last night I watched Children of Men, it was a very good movie and a even better book I don't want to give away any of the story so you should just go and see it your self.

Finally watched the Pirates Of The Carribean 2 (Dead Man's Chest) which I bought the day it came out but never watched until last night.
I didn't like it as good as the first one. idk...
And I hate movies that don't end and leave it wide open for another one when I forget they are making another one.
I should have just waited till the other one came out and watched them together.
Blahhh.. Oh wells.
The Aristocats.
No, I'm not joking. A friend and I had a craving for some old-school disney. You know, the kind where you can appreciate the art behind it? Yeah, that.
Terminator. And Elgin, I didn't like the 2nd Pirates as much as the first, but then again, do you like "The Empire Strikes Back"? :D
Well I used my vacatio time after the champs (and upon my return home) to catch up on some of my moviegoing.
300
I saw 300 with my little brother Byron (who hated it). It reminded me alot of Black Hawk Down. Good looking and exciting with too many charceters to keep track of and outside of the king and queen none of them stood out. The Pesians (just like the Somalies in Black Hawk DOwn) were nothing more than props to be disposed of. C
Grindhouse
Part I Planet Terror was silly as all get out and familair (Resident Eveil anyone?) but it was fun. The second movie Death Proof was better made but it was very uneven and made an awkward transition form one set of charcters to a whole other set of characters. It was like the movie was starting all over.
The previews were amusing but nothing special. B-
Hot Fuzz
A quite amusing and clever parody of American action films. From the one liners to the over the top violence (and it's quite violent). It's only crime is it runs a bit long. B+
Ghost RIder
Probably one of the most bland movies I'vs have ever seen. Not bad. Bland. Cage is just going through the motions. Eva Mendes character and performance is so one note she could've been named Love Interest. The effects are cool looking but pointless and the action is shrug worthy.
Meh. D
The Host
A loopy oddball monster movie from Korea that is pretty scary, has good visual effects, strong characters and surprising emotion.
I reccomend it. B+

28 Weeks Later - Was good, but doesn't compare to the original. I'm looking forward to a third movie hopefully, Danny Boyle says he already has an idea of where he wants to go, so hopefully FOX will buy in.
Alright saw a few movies...
Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon the Movie Film for Theaters-Definitely for fans of the show only. It is mind numbingly stupid, and I loved every minute of it.
Spider-Man 3-Not as good as SM2 but better than 1. It is better than most movies though. The scene where Peter Parker is walking down the street, was the worst part of any of the three movies.

I watched Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny last night and is set to queu again right now. It is absolutely hilarious, if you don't mind the f-bomb. People that know me personally know that I've been known to drop a few in my time... religiously. I should probably break that habit.

I was dragged to that movie against my better judgment, and thank god I didn't pay for my own ticket, or I would have been unhappy. I thought it was totally unbearable.

On Sunday I went to see Knocked Up alone... It was the greatest movie I have seen in a very long time. Non-stop laughs throughout the entire thing.
I also watched Mr and Mrs Smith for the first time lastnight after midnight... I have owned it since it came out. LOL. It was pretty good.
I forgot to mention, I got carded at the movie theaters when I went into Knocked Up... that's a first.
The Importance of Being Ernest- pretty funny, takes a little bit to get into it... but totally worth it
But in theaters... the last two movies I saw were Pirates #3 and Kickin' it Old School

I'm a fan of the show and the movie annoyed me endlessly.
I prefer them in short, concentrated doses.
90 minutes of them are too much.
So, I've gone to the cinema more times this year than the rest of my life combined. The best film I've seen in 2007? BEE MOVIE!!!! :) The worst? That's tough. How about The Comebacks. The only way a person could possible enjoy that movie is if they were deaf, blind, and psychologically addicted to really bad popcorn.
BTW, hooray for the person way up there who said that they saw "My Best Friend's Wedding!" Julia Roberts is fabulous.
And, to answer the actual question, lately I've just been watching Pan's Labyrinth over and over again. I cry every time. Check it out. Definitely. (Don't worry, monolinguals, you can turn on subtitles on the DVD.)

Last movie I saw was RENT. I'm about as much of a RENT-head as I am a robotics geek.
Last movie from theaters was Enchanted. Was pretty funny in some parts.

I just saw Superbad! 2 nights in a row! (for the 2nd & 3rd times)
Good movie, but not for everyone. That's for sure. :yikes:

Beyond the cops and McLovin, I thought it was a total waste of time.

I just saw The Golden compass. It was okay, obviously you can never compare it to the book, but good to watch.

I heard things about that movie. Things that are... things.
Anyway, finishing Jack Frost on ABC Family.

haha, nice critique. Yes, the movie has many things. Anybody know when the next ones are coming out from the awesome trilogy?
My Summer veiwing so far:
The Forbidden KingdomShould have been awesome seeing Jackie Chan and Jet Li square off. Surprisingly it wasn't. What was the purpose of the white kid? It's like they added him in at the last second so they could sell the movie to American audiences. Kung Fu Panda is a hundred times better.C-
Iron Man Alot of fun. Mainly because of Robert Downey Jr.'s sardonic and smart performance. A-
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal SkullLike Harrison Ford the movie felt old and tired. Disappointing. C
Kung Fu Panda The most fun movie I've seen this year. Really well done action scenes. A
The Incredible HulkNot a bad movie just one that never needed to be made. I may be in the minority but I actually enjoyed the 2003 movie. So why did this one have to exist?C+
You Don't Mess With the Zohan LIke an overextended SNL skit. It gets really tiring after a while. D
The HappeningBetter than what most people thought of it. Very spooky. B
Wall-ETypical Pixar effort. Plain brilliant. A
Wanted Ultra violent actioner that is fun if you don't take it too seriously. B
Hancock A movie that was far better than it was at the end where a twist sent it reeling off in some out of left field direction that drained the film of any momentum it had. C
Just saw hancock. I agree, the second half felt like an extremely poor sequel.

Just saw The Incredible Hulk. Personally, I kinda disliked the 2003 version. I mean, this one was better, I thought, but I agree with Ed, too. Maybe they could have waited more than 5 years to do another remake.
*Spoiler-ish*
Still, it had a nice tie-in to iron man man in the end. That was pretty cool.
*End Spoiler-ish*
(Still waiting to see that(Iron Man). And Wall-E.)

That's because there are big plans to make an Avengers movie in 2011.

I saw it a few weeks ago with my girlfriend, and we both enjoyed it. It's an Adam Sandler movie, which should explain it all. (Fortunately, I enjoy Adam Sandler movies.)
Other movies I've seen since graduation include:
WALL-E You'd have to be living under a rock not to know that this movie is made of win and awesome.
Enchanted Alright, so it was on DVD (and I saw it six months prior in the theater with my girlfriend--it's our movie, as it were), but it's the kind of movie that anyone who ever saw a Disney movie can enjoy. The right balance of poking fun at itself without becoming a total spoof. Watch it.
Iron Man Also a highly enjoyable effort. I was unfamiliar with the storyline before seeing it, only watching on a recommendation from others. It was a great origin story, letting even the newbies in for a good time.
I haven't been burned yet on movies this summer--we'll see if my luck holds out.

Just watched 2 movies this past week. I'm sooo bored these days.
Dave in Real Life
Scared the bejibbers out of me. I'm not ready for my daughters to be teenagers. Liked the movie, just darn scary for a dad of 3 daughters.
Margo at the Wedding
OK... this may be one of the worst movies ever. Seriously. I believe think that Nicole Kidman, Jack Black and Jennifer Jason Leigh improvised lines that continually got more and more ridiculous as the movie went on. It's one of those "train wreck" movies that it is so bad, you wonder what they will think of next. Kidman and Jason Leigh tried to one-up each other, seeing who can say the most irresponsible things they could think of to their teenage kids.
Gave in Real Life = good, but scary to me
Margo and the idiots (that should be the title) = waste of a polycarbonate DVD

I believe its Dan in Real Life- Which was what I thought to be a great movie.
Just saw Hellboy II and I thought it was right under Iron Man this summer. It had a great mix of comedy and action without turning into an action-comedy. 9/10

The Dark Knight - Amazing movie. If you have any doubts about this movie, don't. If you go for no other reason, go to see Ledger's performance. You will surprised by what happens.

Ledger WAS the movie. I just saw that movie yesterday.
But I just watched Ocean's twelve
Batman was a great movie. Honestly, it could have been made into 3 different movies because of all the action it had.
Batman has the record. I wonder if this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EgQJKh5t54I) is gonna break it?

I was very happy with the previews before The Dark Knight, especially for Watchmen, new James Bond, and new Terminator. Going to be a good year for movies it looks like.
