Sure, we would take you John. Let me know when to pick you up from the airport.

Genia, I like snow... it was fun playing with snowballs at chicago. Have you ever been to the beach and surfed?

Hmmm. If I had a good way of doing it I could mail you some snow. We got 20+ inches of it in some parts of town over the last two days. Maybe I will bring some with me when I move to Florida..........

I've been to the beach you crazy floridian.

But me? Do anything that requires a level of coordination beyond falling on my face? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHa. Surely you jest.

But it's a beautiful picture. I'll give you that. Florida gets prettiness points. But we still have better corn and soybeans.

I went to Florida in 1999-2000 and fell in love with it...Clear blue skies and palm trees lining the roads. I was so sad I had to leave then :( . I would really like to go to FL for grad school and a job, maybe even do FIRST there :yikes: .

Actual conversation between Mike Walker and myself...

Mike: well, i gotta mow the yard
Jess: you have to mow??!?
Jess: oh wait, you have grass that isnt covered in a foot of snow
Mike: its florida
Mike: the grass never stops
Jess: I was very confused there for a second

Wow, mylittlemechman ... absolutely amazing, I keep telling myself I dislike Florida, the heat, and finding gators under my vehicle everytime I am there... but then I see photos like that. I'll give you the ice on my windshield instead every morning. :p

in st. pete, it dropped down to 49 degrees. but that didn't stop us from working till early in the morning in an unheated shop. its getting to be a tradition for my team.

So
I have a funny story for you SPAM kids.

There is a funny guy on your team, who thinks he's immune to the cold. But he came up to visit Indiana for a weekend and frolic, and well, let's just say he couldn't even handle 30 or 40. ;) Let alone 10. This was in January.

50? Ha! Feeling brave are we?

And the fellow was called Gaterunner!

(Sorry Scott, I told you I'd laugh at you for getting cold ;))

I got a little story for you Genia,

2003 Midwest Regional, there were 8 of us team mates who went up there. 6 of us walked out of the hotel with just one shirt on and enjoyed the weather.

What am I trying to point out?

... Floridians are crazy and tough.

But Ary!

You can't top the U Michigan- Ann Arbor yearly streak in February, or the Carleton University Streaker's Guild.

You pull one of those off, and I'll call you a tough one :P

But til then?

views like that make being locked in your house for a week straight and living through 3-4 miserable hurricanes totally worth it. every afternoon on my way home from school (or out to work on the robot), i notice the sunset and thank God for the ability to appreciate the beauty of the changing colors of the sky, the reflections of pink and purple and orange on the clouds while the sky slowly changes from its traditional blue to a deep purple and eventually to a dusky black, with dots of light twinkling innocently back at you.

you people on the West coast are so lucky.. i've never seen a sunset on the water, dispite the fact that i've lived in Florida since i was two. (i was in CT before then... but i dont remember anything.) the only thing i dont like about Florida is how miserably FLAT it is. no rolling hills or mountains or anything... just eternal flatness. when i went to Georgia to visit my uncle, i absolutely fell in love with the rolling hills, the trees, the crisp air, everything. :) but i still love Florida, dispite how humid and soggy and gross it can be at times.

i'll be in Colorado for the Denver Regional in a little over a month... i've never seen mountains, i've never played in snow, and i dont think i've ever truly experienced what "cold" is. ^^; i'm a little worried... our team uniform consists of short sleeved T-shirts and board shorts. should i be prepared to freeze to death?

exactly! i mean, i hate it when it's raining and hot and humid at the same time and the teacher won't let me jump into the pool. but where else can i go out on christmas day in a tank and shorts and play a game of tennis and not even shiver? floor-ee-dah!

but hey, come college...i'm out of florida. nice place to visit but not to live. i have my eyes on cali. cali's got exaclty what i want: beaches AND mountains.
