Mission Statement
The mission of careFIRST is to provide a robotics experience to children and
young adults who cannot participate in traditional FIRST Robotics or FIRST Lego League programs.

About careFIRST
careFIRST is any program in which FIRST Teams share the FIRST experience with children, teens or young adults who cannot participate in FIRST Robotics or the FIRST Lego League. The setting may be an acute care hospital or it may be a residential treatment center. It could be in a group home or juvinile detention center. It exists anywhere there are participants who cannot be involved in traditional FIRST programs

Yes this is!

We went to a local children's rehabilitation hospital for the program, our kids could only press buttons and help set up the field and such. BUT the program is expandable, so if a team wants to start a mini-FLL group, we offer how to scale the program based on the participation level of the students. My mom, who is a social worker and worked on programs dealing with kids like this, helped write the manual.

We sent out manuals to other teams, we have one team already working with us to set up a program, we have the manual on the CD white papers, and we had displays in the pits at VCU. :)
