I have a movie, and I can't figure out what it's encoded with... The title says DivX, but I have the DivX codec and I get an error saying I have missing codecs everytime I try to open it.

I downloaded a pack of a bunch of common codecs, and that hasn't helped either. Anyone have any ideas as to what I might be able to do?

Thanks a lot.

Where is the video from? It could just be corrupted. What are you trying to play it with? Do you have the newest DivX Codec?

I'm starting to think it's corrupted also. I've tried WMP, the DivX player, Real Player, WinDVD, Winamp. I have the newest codec available.

Before you go downloading a whole bunch of different codec packs and installing them (and create a pain later on), try using gspot (http://www.headbands.com/gspot/) to show you what codec it needs.

Before you go downloading a whole bunch of different codec packs and installing them (and create a pain later on), try using gspot (http://www.headbands.com/gspot/) to show you what codec it needs.

I tried using this app.

It told me I have all the correct codecs.

It gave me this message: " An invalid chunk has been encountered in the list containing the A/V frame data. Though not as serious as a corrupt header, it may still be serious enough to prevent the file from rendering correctly.

Details: While processing chunk /RIFF:AVI , found bad length value 3895486013 at file offset 0x2aeb0872"

I clicked "render" at the bottom and it tells me that it should be able to play the file... yet when I open it with WMP or any other player for that matter, it shows the total length, but just sits there stuck at the beginning.

I would just give up, but another version of the movie I had was corrupted like 15 minutes into the thing, and I haven't been able to find it anywhere else.
