I really like the simple base design to allow the tetra to turn with the point facing inwards... allows for a simple catch onto the tetra. Very good way to make it easier (and faster) on the driver to pick up tetras off the floor. Great job!

I was just about to ask about that. The front is a nice shape... perfect for a tetra perhaps? :D lovin it

We were originally planning on doing a wedge shape on the front but then aborted it due to time. It's nice to see that we weren't the only ones thinking along those lines.

Goober!!!

Thank you for the your nice comments , but I wish we could have posted a pic with the side and top graphics and showing some more of the machine more unique functions .

thank again for your comments

how high can you stack a tetra?

i think we got a tetra on the middle goal on top of 2 others but i think it can go higher then that

sick robot...

BUT!

what is that I see in the background? Is that another robot? Prehaps one from the year before or like a practice bot to play with???

Pinman :

That was last years robot ,and due to completely new drive system practicing with that old robot would be not practical.also due the weight of the tetras last year robot will only lift one tetra at a time .

Does the tetra grabber exert some kind of a force on the tetra to hold it in place? Or does the tetra just rest there? What is it like to pick tetras off the floor with it? Can you elaborate on the design of it please?
I see what (perhaps?) looks like a winch mechanism on top of your secondary arm, near where it rotates off of the main tower. What is that used for?
Also, the "tetra" that is mounted on your chassis: is it used to stack and store tetras? If so, I like it... it's a clever idea.

Great job team 107!

Thanks for your very good questions.

The tetra rests and hangs on the ball and if you look closely there is a small plastic tube which keeps it from sliding down the arm. Here is our plan in a nutshell. we are going to go to the auto load zone and load 2,3,0r 4 tetra on the robot top of the small tetra that is mounted to our robot .This is done with either are arm or we have a inner arm that rides inside our main arm . The top motor is for moving our kicker that knocks the tetras off the loading zone onto the robot ( this happen quite quickly)then we will grab one tetra and start placing 1 then 2 and then 2 or maybe 3 at a time .

thanks again for interest in team 107 robot
