View Full Version : AutoCAD Jobs
Hi all, I am interested in pursuing a career in AutoCAD (specifically Autodesk Inventor or AutoCAD). I currently work with engineers on my FIRST team to design the mobility platform. Is there a position that would allow me to do the some sort of thing (sit down with an engineer and draw up the parts) in the job market? I am having trouble finding a "job title" that suits my interests. I am pretty sure most companies have a "CAD guy" that works with the engineers to refine/test designs on the computer and then make prototypes. If anyone has any information and works in this field, I would be happy to hear about it. :)

Drafter
Those are the 3 terms I use in looking for jobs either online, or in the papers.
Good Luck.

I have a friend who goes by the title "CAD Design Engineer." Ill check with him and then try to get the two of you together in case you want to ask any questions. PM me if your interested, ill e-mail him now to make sure its fine.
The company I work for (Itron) has the position of mechanical designer. Your description fits that job description to a T. But hey, why not go for the engineer role! The pays better and you get to play the inventor as well! :)
