View Full Version : Better Controller Model?

I was wondering if anyone here had a more accurate Inventor version of the 2004/2005 RC. The one supplied with the VKOP is pretty inaccurate, with an extra pair of serial parts, the omission of the two battery terminals, and the omission of all the various pin banks and buttons. I looked at the one on the FirstCADLibrary, but it was not any more accurate.

So if anyone has a more accurate version of the RC, I would hugely appreciate it if you either attach it to a post here or email it to me at maxcutler@gmail.com (mailto:maxcutler@gmail.com).

Could you not add those yourself? Battery termanals and pins are easy to add and deleating parts is even easier. The model is accruate enough for most of us. If changes are needed, it wouldn't be too hard to change, but I for one don't have the time or need to change it. If you do make the changes, why don't you post it and share it with us. I wouldn't mind a better one, but I don't see a NEED for a better one.

Fair enough, but I've only been using Inventor for 4 days now, and haven't yet gained much experience editing models. I have been using just simple custom-made extrusions or parts I've found in the VKOP or on FCL. It's not a huge problem, but it would look nicer and be a bit more useful for future planning. Anyone else? If not, I'll give it a try once I'm done the rest of project I'm working on.

I can't recall if the controler is a part or an assembly. If its an assembly, pins are small circles extruded up and placed on the board. If it's a part, create a sketch were they are suppost to be an make the circles and extrude up. To delete a feature(in a part) or a part(in an assembly), look at the panel that lists everything an delete the offending piece. It shouldn't be too hard, even with 4 days experience
