I'll be there as a volunteer, I'm the regional managers' assistant, so look for the girl with the headset running around like crazy (but apparently looking like I know what I'm doing, so I've been told...)

I'll be there with the rest of my team, possibly in the pits for some of the time. Our team is staying at the Hilton at UPenn, if anyone else is staying there.

I'll be there again as the Head of Queuing, so if you want to find me i'll be at the field entrance with the walkie-talkie and probably not much of a voice as the competition goes on.

A little Birdie on my shoulder told me there is going to be a really cool video after the awards on Saturday. Also, I'll be volunteering at the event, and may or may not have anything to do with the video. That all depends on your opinion of the video.

Unfortunately no one can be shown the Philly Regional. You have to see it for yourself.

As Pelan and Matt said 177 will be there. It should be a good regional. I know we enjoyed it last year, and not just because we won.

You probaly are talking about Bernie (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/member.php?u=7425), although many fit the description "dancing MOE kid".
I will be a robot inspector again this year, so I might just inspect your bot. See you all there.

I'm likely to go for some part of it just to watch, and maybe wander the pits a bit. One regional is just not enough, even if those that finance your team think so. ;)

Team 56 will be showing up at Philly of course.

I have off this week for spring break so I'll be at philly all three days with MOE. (gotta love college breaks) It'll be nice seeing all the teams again. Good luck to everyone, and feel free to say Hi if you see me. Most likely I'll be sitting in the stands cheering.

I'll be there with 571 - stop by my pit and there's a 99% chance that I will be there. This will be my first time at that regional and my team doesn't compete with many of the PA teams so it will be a good opportunity to meet some more people from CD.
Edit: We will also be staying at the Hilton at UPenn - see you there bobcats!

Soo close yet so far away. The anticipation is killing me. I'm going through competition withdrawel between SBPLI and Philly.
I'll be there Friday morning through Saturday with a friend. Currently looking for a cheap hotel room, but best I've found is $75 and 30 minutes away. If anyone has room for me and a friend for Friday night so I can save money, send me a PM.
Looking foward to seeing some great competition!

I'll be at Drexel on Saturday all day. I doubt I will be able to make it on Friday evening but we shall see... I wouldnt miss this event for anything! Always a great time. Look for me there and say hi!! I know I will be feeling the nostalgia having been so devoid of robotics at college :( I can't wait to get that competition high, even if it is from the stands. Good luck to all the teams competing there!

As said before 358 will be there. Most of us are leaving this afternoon in fact. Philly was fun last year so we're all looking forward to it. And the other good thing...we don't need to bring half our tools! We can just borrow MOE's. ;) (Though we did try to pack better this year...and we now have our own vice! :) Thanks for all your past help though.)
Well, we'll see you all tomorrow morning. :)

The field's all set up and we're ready for tomorrow!
Just a friendly reminder that the weather is predicting rain and gray skies this weekend so be sure to dress for the weather and bring a umbrella just in case.
I can't wait to see everyone at Philly. Everyone who has posted in this thread has to stop by the MOE pit and say Hi to me now because i want to meet all of you.

Dress in layers. Drexel's DAK Center has no air conditioning, it can get really hot in there. The doors into the pit air are usually open and can keep that area cool, but the playing field and stands can get toasty.
I did not travel to Pittsburgh with Royal Assault so I am really looking forward to Friday and Saturday.(Can't make Thursday). Philly is great regional. There are always competitive robots supported by really great teams, who are always willing to help everyone out.

All the crates look great sitting in thier rows. The loan exception is 358, who is sitting in the loading dock. I was a little freaked out when I couldnt find them in thier pit because I drafted them with my first pick in Fantasy FIRST Philly :yikes: (with 87 and 1495 also, I think have a shot). All the crates are there and safe since they have a security guard keeping them company right now.
I have to sleep now. See all you guys in a couple hours, when we get to uncate those bots :)

I'm so happy that we are in third place at the end of Friday. I'm so twitchy before every match. I'm the arm operator for our team. You'll either see me bouncing or pacing in the first queing area and at the control station before the match. Or standing there with my eyes closed trying to chill out. This year is definitely going great for us.
But some of the teams that I know should be doing really well aren't as high as I expected them. I guess that is just how the groupings go. I've heard a lot about that.
The thing that made me really happy was in that one tie we had I had just gotten our autonomous working, (knocking down a hanging tetra) and if it weren't for that one point, we would have lost it.
Been a lot of fun here, I love all the architecture in the city. Very nice to see, better than Baltimore back home.
Good luck to everyone on saturday. I hope you all can go home saying you had a great time. I know I will be.

Saturday is finally here, the last day of the regional. Right now its very early because i could barely sleep, my voice is partially gone, but I'm psyched! by the time i got back to school on Tuesday, I'm gonna have no voice, half asleep and falling over for no reason, almost like a regular day except the voice part. :p So anyway good luck to all the teams, make sure u keep an eye out for me and stop to say hi, i met some people already and yay I'm so happy u remember! go us! lol anyway good luck, give it your all, and make sure u lose your voice!

Team 316 would like to congratulate everyone who competed this weekend in Drexel. This was by far the best competition I have been to yet. Thanks to our sister team 365 MOE and 56 Robbe Xtreme for the experience to the championship. We are going to try and see everyone again in Atlanta. If not we will see you at PARC or there is always the DUEL on the Delaware.
Thank You Mr. Hinde, Mr. Weick, Mrs. Weick, Mr. Robinson, Ms. Halter, Sam, Mr. Bartlett and PACO, and all of our parents for their support.

For everyone who went to Philly's regional, i hope you had a blast and will vist us soon! Congrats to everyone who won and I hope to see you on the off seasons or next year, I won't be going to nationals, but some of my team will. For everyone who I met at the competition, thanks for saying hi and all that, hop we keep in touch, I'm me whenever you please. Sure I'm upset we had malfunctions with our robot, but I have to admit I had a pretty good time for my first season competition. Congrats to everyone! Make sure you keep in touch now!

Ok.... wow... I never expected to get #1 seeding and the highest average. Kind of crazy today. Good job to our alliance mates 103 and 484.
After our first elimination round we had managed to break the roll pin holding our arm, so that was laying out in front of us, getting caught on everything, we bent 2 axles, dropped a chain, and bent out hook. I was amazed at how fast that all got fixed. Wasn't quite fast enough though...
The field personnel were very helpful when everything got confusing, good job to them.
I would like to congratulate 316, they had done well and are a very nice team to work with in the qualifications.
Did anyone notice that the pit announcer didn't seem so friendly on Friday? "Congratulations, match XX actually made it to the queuing area with only 2 calls, they didn't need a final one..." I know I heard that more than once, and the tone of voice wasn't exactly friendly.
EDIT: Oh I heard that our human player made it to the channel 6 news on Friday night, can anyone with information about that PM me? Thanks
Joe Matt

What The Lucas was talking about was on Wed. night. Your crate arrived after the forklift guys went home for the night... so it sat on the loading dock untill they moved it into your pit area the next morning... then once you emptied it they moved it over to where i was doing queuing.

Yea. I received an emergency call from FIRST on Wednesday telling me they couldn't track where our crate was. We had back-to-back regionals so couldn't ship FedEx. It got real hectic for me for awhile (it's hard to call and drive to Philly at the same time), and I was really relieved to see the crate in the pit when the uncrating crew walked in on Thursday morning.

i have to agree with you on that one, even though it was only a few days, it seemed like it was long ago to me. I had a blast, I met a few people that I have talking to on here there, thought it was hilarious that you noticed the little asian girl that was hyper and had pom poms. I had a wonderful time and I will always remember it. Hope everyone keeps in touch! Good Luck at nationals, sadly, I won't be attending but I'll be watching and hearing up dates. So good luck, have fun, and i expect tons of pictures!
