Team 772 is going (I can't wait!). We are staying at the Holiday Inn - Kitchener. We'll be leaving after school tomorrow and arriving around 6pm or so. I'm looking forward meeting all of the other Canadian teams!
In terms of the competition, I have heard that since there are only 24 teams there will only be 4 alliances chosen? There wouldn't even be quarter finals in that case though... so I don't know. Because if there are 8 alliances every team will be in the quarter finals. If anyone knows how this will work please let me know!
I have heard 4 , 6 and 8 so we will just have to see. My preference is 6 alliances. Seed 1 & 2 get a bye the first round. 3 plays 6 and 4 plays 5. Winner of 4/5 plays 1 and winner of 3/6 plays 2. The finals would then be the last 2 alliances standing.

Awesome.
The rest of 188 will be going as well, with a few members, drive + essential scouts staying at the Four Points Sheraton in Kitchener.
someone ;) told me the social would be great this year.
All of 1241 will be there. Can't wait to play our first event. :D
The Waterloo Regional will be a great event! I was just at the venue, and I think the arena setup will be one that you all will enjoy. Our regional planning committee has worked hard to make this the best FIRST experience of your lives.
We will be having a team gathering Friday evening at 6:00 PM, in the University of Waterloo Student Life Center. Pizza, popcorn, drinks and snacks will be served. In the main room, we'll be showing the animated feature "Shark Tale". The university arcade will be open and free to all FIRST students. In addition we will have some crafts where you can make stress balls and bead necklaces. Of course there'll be plenty of space where you can socialize with all your new FIRST friends.
It should be a great weekend. I'll see you all on Thursday.

Shawn,
Go wild in there, it's open to students, and 24 year old mentors who look like students ;) . There's also network games in the arcade for teams to play. Too bad no one plays Marathon anymore... :)

I will be there with a couple of team members on saturday to cheer you guys on. However, my team 1219 is not attending the competition. So best of luck to all the teams and hope to see all of you at the GTA regional. :)

Stress balls! Best idea ever Karthik! You're AWESOME! :yikes:
