Hey everyone, I may be a bit old school but what is your favorite song at competitions?

Mine is Cotton Eye Joe. Download that one "legally" and have a listen. You'll really enjoy it!

Ugh. You aren't sick of Cotton Eye Joe yet? I'd like to hear music that goes better with the competitions, and isn't as loud. I couldn't even hear myself shouting at the LI regional.

Lol Tired of Cotton Eye Joe? Lol hardly! Its a classic when it comes to FIRST. Well there are others, I wish they would play Dream On by Aerosmith, I don't think I've ever heard them play that!

Sandstorm, Final Countdown, and Sirius are my favorites. I want to hear Lazy Jones (Zombie Nation) and Song 2 (Blur) at a competition some time.

They played "Sweetness" by Jimmy Eat World during the eliminations at the Canadian Regional last year. I enjoyed that thoroughly.

Our team likes when some of the older rock, like Queen gets played. Otherwise, we'll just start singing whatever song we got stuck in our heads. Our entire pit crew got addicted to a Dee Snider/Queen/Twisted Sister/KISS mix CD one of us had made before Boilermaker, which they sang quite a lot. It would have been better if they had memorized anything more than the choruses.

Definitely sandstorm(darude) final countdown(Europe) is another good one. I agree with Vin211 Dream On (Aerosmith) is a good song that should be played more often. adding to that list is American Woman(Lenny Kravitz) and Spirit of the Sky(???)[great opening] Play that funky music(Wild Cherry) Another one bites the dust(queen) and the all time best We will rock you/We are the champions(queen)

What's that song that has those people screaming "SCIENCE!" and with lyrics like "they'll [something] you with technology." Yeah, that one, the one used in the Mythbusters commericals. I forgot what it is called and who made it.

The more chicken dance, the better!

I'm a fan of Zombie Nation...... you cant beat that. When I hear that, I automatically think FIRST.... thanks to kickoff 2004 last year and the continuous repeat of it almost.

Hmmm.....
Some rage against the machineeee would rock.. I've yet to hear any though.

We code to that. :)

Best song of all time! Drogostea Din Tei... by O-zone or Haiducci, made in 12 languages and #1 in 12 countries... not in US. LOL. Maybe not the best song. Just that everyone on my team loves it now since I showed them that stupid video.

The Chicken Dance is THE best... Though the best expierience would be with my team doing the Chicken Dance while we were in those red boxes with 141 on them... that's the best!

I also like the Cha Cha Slide, Cotton Eye Joe, Macarena, and finally the song my team mock shoots me for singing...

We Like to Party!

[EDIT] Disregaurd the first part of my unedited post.

There is another techno song that has the voice of an operatic woman. This has been stuck in my head as well. Anyone recognize it? Thanks!

Also, thanks for mentioning Zombie Nation, I've been wondering what it was.

Wow I am replying to a chit-chat thread...I must be REALLY bored. ANYWAYS. Just wanted to put my two cents. First off two things that will always have FIRST etched next to them in my brain. One, Cotton Eye Joe, Two the monorail sound from Disney "Please stand clear of the doors, Por favor, me tengan se allijados de las puertas." Also She Blinded Me with Science, and Paradise City are two other classic FIRST songs for me.

Cotton-eye Joe is a classic of course, but I greatly enjoyed it when they played Blitzkrieg Bop at WMR. Also it was quite fun when they played Time Warp (from Rocky Horror Picture Show)...went to show you don't have to be a bot to get on the field! Anyone who was at WMR saturday knows what I'm talking about!

wow wow wow I think your missing another one of the greatest guitarists of all time John Petrucci who has both a band and solo projects. The band Dream Theater, in my opinion one of the best bands ever! http://www.dreamtheater.net
http://www.johnpetrucci.com/

Dream Theater is Progressive Rock, let the instruments tell the story (even tho there are vocals). You know the band is good when you have 2 - 24 min songs and a 42min (9 part but all one) song.
