Team 492 has made the decision too release their scouting app talked about in this post (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36356).

Here is the URL.
http://trc.freedomdown.net/492_scouting_appv1.zip [14kb]

Please keep the discussion positive.

If you are having trouble installing please READ THE README first, then post.

Also, you NEED to review the license, it has some important things in it. If people do not abide by it we will not really have any incentive to release more versions.

If you see any problems please post them here. The version released ran fine, and I believe I got all the files when I packaged it, but there is always a possibility for error.

Go 492!

JW, what license are you using? I'm planning on releasing a few things as open source projects and am still looking at licenses. I like the Mozilla Public License myself.

Well we kinda created our own. We based it off another, but here is the full text.

I tried to use phpMy Admin and it gave me the following error:

#1064 - You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1' at line 8

I was wondering is there something I did wrong somewhere or am I not configured correctly?

I got that also. I just deleted that part :D. I did a google search, and a lot of people have had problems similar to that...one solution I saw was to dump some stuff and reimport it, but it sounded to complicated for me ;)

My guess would be that you have non-internationalized installations of MySQL, so that just deleting the 'DEFAULT CHARSET=latin1' part of the query and resubmitting it will work just fine.

Erik, probably best to take that part out of the instructions because it seems to be causing some issues.

I've run into some problems uploading it to our website.. I was wondering if there is any way to fix this?

On the match_info.php Page
Warning: array_keys(): Warning: array_keys(): The first argument should be an array in /home/sparky/public_html/scout05/mi_display.php on line 10

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/sparky/public_html/scout05/mi_display.php on line 10

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/sparky/public_html/scout05/mi_display.php on line 17

On the mi_add.php Page
Warning: mysql_query(): Access denied for user: 'sparky@localhost' (Using password: NO) in /home/sparky/public_html/scout05/mi_add.php on line 3

Warning: mysql_query(): A link to the server could not be established in /home/sparky/public_html/scout05/mi_add.php on line 3

Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/sparky/public_html/scout05/mi_add.php on line 4

Warning: mysql_free_result(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /home/sparky/public_html/scout05/mi_add.php on line 6

Those are just a few examples of problems I am encountering.. is there anyway to fix this?

Looks like your SQL username isn't properly configured. 'sparky@localhost' is being denied access to the SQL database - you're using no password ("(Using password: NO)"), so my guess would be is that you need one...and if you don't actually use a password I'd HIGHLY suggest you do. :)

That could be causing all the other errors, or possibly not - I don't know, I didn't write the code. ;)

This error comes from older versions on MySQL which didn't specify character sets the same way. Since they default to latin1, it doesn't matter. :)

Lol, I know this is late, but I somehow just read the second part of your post.

Which part are you suggesting I take out again?

I still have not figured it out.. I have checked my phpAdmin databases and users. I created the database titled scout05 and created a user sparky that uses the database scout05 and gave it a password.

I edited the connect.php to those instructions:

$user: sparky
$database: scout05
$password: entered the password
$data: scout05

is there anything i'm doing wrong here?

Please help, thanks.
