So what's the moral of this story? Be thankful that we didn't have such a failure on a plane.

Planes go through a rigorous checklist and maintenance schedule. After a certain number of flight hours, planes engines have to be torn down and rebuilt. Most people drive cars until they have a problem or a problem starts. Thus, planes are a much safer mode of transportation!

237 has a tradition of breaking something or fixing something while traveling to and from competitions. Last year it was the DVD player on the bus. This year they rescued a laptop that had taken a milk bath that morning and would not boot.
