On Friday April 8th, Libby Ritchie and her two children, Ryan and Taylor, were involved in a very serious car accident. Scott was not in the car and met them the hospital. They are all being treated at Methodist hospital in Indianapolis.

They all sustained multiple injuries and Libby and Taylor will be spending some time in the hospital to care for their injuries. Ryan was released this afternoon.

Team 393, 234, and the Ritchie family will be going through some very rough times and they will be needing lots of prayers.

I will be going back to the hospital tomorrow so I will have an updated status on their condition.

When David told me about this this morning, I was shocked.

Lib and Scott, we're all thinking about you guys. If there's anything at all that I can do, please let me know. Best of luck on Taylor's recovery... I know everything will work out fine. We're all rooting for you guys.

I'd like to send my most heartfelt prayers out to the Ritchie family and the teams that work with them. They aren't just members of FIRST, they are FIRST family...I hope they get well.

David, is there a place to send get well cards or other such things?

We all know that Scott was more than just another mentor in FIRST as we witnessed him win a regional Woodie Flowers award this year. I am wishing for the best for the whole family and those closely affected by thier actions and endeavors.

Although I've never met the Ritchie's personally, the one thing I do know about them is that they are fantastic people. David, send my best to the Ritchie's, they'll be in my prayers.

I just got back from spending around 3 hours at the hospital with Scott and Libby. They are all in great spirit and are doing well. Their daughter is continually improving as is Libby's pain. I'm sure they'll appreciate all of your concern and prayers.

They will be in my thoughts.

Please also keep them in your thoughts when YOU are out on the roads. Drive safe, watch out, buckle up. Just a reminder from an EMT who has had to cut too many people out of their cars.

Dear Libby, Scott, Ryan and Taylor,

I was very sad to hear today of the car accident that Libby, Ryan and Taylor were in, but I was happy to read here on Chief Delphi that all three of you are getting better.

You may not realize it, but you folks are very special. You spread happiness in a world where there isn't enough.

You are in our hearts. May you all quickly recover to your wonderful smiling helpful selves. This world needs you.
