Is it possible to rollerblade or skateboard at the event. I've heard of the 10 minute walk between the pits and the field. This might be an effective remedy.

#1. It only takes that long if you're crawling.
#2. It's allllllllll stairs, well, escalators, and there's about 3 sets of them

So in answer, not really

1.True
2.They changed it this year so that its on the first floor, but there is still one set of escalators, from what it looks like on the map.

But they might not let you do it due to safety issues.

i dont think the venue would appreciate skateboarding or rollerblading in that area... although thinking about it now, that would be a lot of fun! and like ali said, because of all of the stairs and escalators, there is a lot of liability involved because the chance of injury is high. (which brings to mind a question. did any unfortunate soul tumble down those multiple flights of stairs to/from the pits last year in Atlanta?)

so, i wouldnt count on skateboarding/rollerblading. its carpet there anyways... and as Beth said, it wont be nearly that long, so no worries. and if you think you'll be bored to death, than just bring a friend (or make a friend on the way) :)

Skateboarding and Rollerblading = not allowed in venue. Well, I HIGHLY doubt it anyway. Why? Well, last year, security had a problem letting us ride our segways around until Dean showed up on his.
