View Full Version : The only thing I'll miss from nationals: Frozen Carbonated Beverage
I know a lot of people are really upset about not going to nationals this year, I'll gladly say I'm pretty happy with not going. One think I will miss is the frozen carbonated beverage, but really I can't think of anything else.
So what's the one thing you'll miss from nationals if your not going? (if anything)
Just something I've been wondering...

the giant solar balloon that one of my teammates tried to make in 1999 and 2000. it really looked like a giant piece of poop or something. i mean what do you expect when trying to make it out of green/black garbage bags taped together.
Can't you just stick a can of coke in the freezer?
Its cheeper too.

Was it the drink he liked, or something else?
...But I think someone said it...Stick a can of Pepsi (not coke) in the freezer...Just making sure you take it out before it explodes (been there done that).

Frozen Coke - last time I was there and paying attention (been a while) Burger King was selling it.
Nationals - This is easy. The only thing I'm going to miss is my friends (that I only see once a year to begin with).
After this amount of time in FIRST, I could really care less about who wins, though I'll cheer teams on with the best of them.

Yes, Lora, Burger King does selll frozen cokes, so don't anybody pine away longing for them, they not hard to find
In reply to some message early in the thread: you can't freeze a can of soda... it will explode all over your freezer (it expands when frozen, and makes the can burst open). You couls try it though... just make sure there's nothing else in your freezer.
But yes, frozen soda is good... I'll have to buy some when I'm there.

hehe... I didn't even know what a Sonic was until I moved to Tennessee... we just don't have variety up north in Massachusetts ;) I'm guessing Sonic is a Southern thing *shrugs* though the whole concept of a drive thru minus the actual driving through was a bit to get used to!

In Toronto for the Canadian Regional the McDonalds had walk thrus. Isn't that genius. You just walk up to the window at the sidewalk and place your order. It's a great idea esp since i've been yelled at for walking through the drive thru here. lol it is fun

Our McDonalds have walk-thrus???
I didn't know that...
I'll have to check that one out....lol
AHHH YOU DONT KNOW WHAT SONIC IS?!?!?!
its a drive in, not a drive through
you drive up to a menu and push a button so they can take your order and then a car hop (often on roller skates) brings out your food, its a great system
im sorry to all you without the joys of sonic

i love sonic! the first time i went was last july in mountain home arkansas(home of the bomb squad) on a mini vacation/roadtrip. and on the way back home to chicago we stopped at a sonic in illinois too. a few times ive driven down a few hours to southern/cental illinois just to go to the sonic. but its soo worth it.

I was SO disappointed that they didn't have any frozen carbonated beverages there! That was one of my favorite parts of nationals! They were so good....
