Getting together a lot of stuff for the Competition with the events I'm working with and just figuring everything out.

As a team, we're coordinating travelling plans and such, and working through all the random organization stuff before a big event.

And most of all, being BLOODY EXCITED! I LOVE ATL!

Sorry, had to add some caps lock there.

How are you guys preparing?
I have shortened my sleep needs to 4 hours per night, and although my sons are both off to college, I wake up each hour to go down to check that the "curfew tape" is still properly attached to the door. :D

Heh, right now 624 is kind of in a slight panic. We kind of decided on going to nationals kind of late in the game, so we are kind of still planing a few things. We have faced so many problems going to championships.

1) Next week is the TAKS tests, which are the state standardized tests which determine how much money the school gets. Basically, the whole entire school year is supposed to be dedicated to passing this EASY test. For Juniors if they don't pass it they can't graduate. Our team will have to take the test DURING THE COMPETITION AT THE SAME TIME AS EVERYONE ELSE IN TEXAS!

2)The majority of kids on the team are in band. On the same weekend of the championship is the huge band trip to Disneyland which we could receive no refund to.

We spent last night creating a small book of standard plays based on experience from the Regionals. This weekend we will collect/crate our spare parts and tools.

Other than that we're just chewing our nails in anticipation.

:D To use my excess energy, I got into a competition with Karinka13 or Karen about who could contact the most people in our division in 7 days. lol. So far, we're on our 4th day n added 17 on my buddy list, and she added 2. I'm winning!
-IM me @ looney23lin if you'd like to help. :D

I'm getting excited and starting to fret.

Since our machine is in good shape and our veteran all-student pit crew doesn't need mentor help any more, I stay busy placing last minute orders for stuff like FIRSTPACK lunches and extra safety glasses. And a few spare packs of SLU-70 lugs for battery cables (see <R48>).

Gotta get my day-job projects squared away so they can get by without me for a few days. Gotta phone/email old friends in ATL. Gotta find a hotel room. Gotta wash some volunteer t-shirts, plus a couple of lime PC shirts.

And stock up on Krispy Kremes to entice visitors to our pit!

Well, unfortudently my Symphonic Band Audition tape is due Tuesday (day before I leave) so I'm mainly focussing on that, and I also have a Honors Geometry Test & Science test on Tuesday. The team in general is organizing and sorting containers of stuff, checking travel arrangements, and deciding who is taking what with them (tool box, cart, crates).

Team 1251 is getting ready in many ways.

Part of the team is doing scouting, another part of the team makes bottons, some of us make lists of spare parts and tools we need to take with us, and some others are working on a flag and some tiger sticks. :D WE GOT SPIRIT :D

And last but defenetly not least, our two sets of drivers keep practicing to get better and better. (by the way im one of the drivers)

Hope to see you all there, and don't for get to come say hi at our pits.

Dave

I am getting ready by...getting my geometry grade up, which few thought could be done but I did it! Getting my team shirts washed. (I wear a different one every night in ATL) I am also getting my final Word doc. of the people I want to meet and the people who want to meet me done. Monday I will go to Tkats and help out packing the trailer and getting everything ready to roll out Wed. morning. I'm ready, are you?

Well, I'm spending it like I've spent the last week (since we learned we were going to the Championships), and every other week since the end of build season, scouting, strategizing, making the occasional button, and browsing CD (Oh, I hope this is my last year scouting). This is going to be an exciting trip, especially my first with a some what "limited crew" (The mini-van caravan!). This is going be a great Championship with FRC, FVR, FLL and a bunch of great teams all under one roof/dome.

(Oh, I hope this is my last year scouting)

Why??

Too bad you guys aren't bringing your chearing crew, you guys have awsome spirit. Good Luck to Heat Wave from team 1251, and to all the teams.

Trying to pay attention in class! :p I'm sitting in vector calc learning about the flux of a field through a surface and all I can think about is the Championship. This week is gonna kill me I'm so excited!! See everyone in Atlanta and make sure to stop by 433's pit and say hi.

I can and cannot wait. I can wait with the fact I'm going down to Atlanta on a bus. I probably won't sleep, so I'll be equipping a dew for the trip.

I cannot wait in that its nationals, the season finale so to speak. There are things to do, see, people to meet, the whole thing. It's going to rock.

I am considering bringing a NES along for the trip with a 13" TV 2 controllers and of course the 'zapper' for Duck Hunt. Old school, yes, but do the games get old, no.

Other than that, I'm ready. See all of you there!

Ohhh, don't worry too much about that, we will have some people out there cheering non-stop, and I'll be yelling at the top of my lungs when I'm out there. That reminds me, I need to work on saving my voice this week too, oh well, guess I can't answer those questions in class.

I've been making button designs, packing spirit stuff, making little surprise stuff for the students, creating a list of FLL teams who still want to shadow with FRC teams in Atlanta, making earrings, making pit sheet bones, creating a pit display, reading CD, creating an attendance sheet for our team leader to use, sending out information e-mails to the team, making minor repairs to our mascot costume... Still to-do: laundry, packing my own stuff, working on my presentations for THIS WEEK(!)'s conference...

I'll be leaving in 18 hours to start my trek toward Atlanta, and I still have to pack :ahh:! Otherwise, I still have updates to do on our website (http://www.team228.org/), print out another few hundred buttons, and finish recharging the rest of batteries. And oh yeah,

THERE'S ONLY 3 DAYS, 14 HOURS, 29 MINUTES, and 17 SECONDS LEFT!

My team was... organizing our tool box, fixing our pit stuff up, organizing giveaways, thinking up cheers, dancing to cotton eye joe, packing, gathering homework, taking tests, online scouting, printing off more pit and match scouting forms, making up games for people to play, taking parts of off last years really cool bot, replacing those motors they took with others, and helping team 85 by taking down practically their whole pit and their ultra cool shop rags :) hectic as always
