I just wanted to throw in my two cents about Mayhem...
Mayhem is a great New England tradition started by a group of wonderful people in Tyngsboro Mass. Every year the competition is fierce and fun, not to mention one of the smoothest going. Unfortunately our friends at team 140 "The Tigers" went under this past year, thus leaving Mayhem up in question. I gotta give a big time thank you and way to go to the great team in Merrimack, team 166. Keeping traditions alive is very important to the success of FIRST in general.
With that said, it is also YOUR (All the teams) job to keep tradition alive. Get in on this competition...sign up...have fun! I promise you that you will not regret it. Support team 166 in their efforts to continue what is such an amazing tradition in the New England area...sign up...support FIRST by supporting offseasons!

P.S. Now we just need someone to resurrect Rumble!
88 talked about going... Now that it is officially opened I'm gonna see if we can make the trip... :D
Pamela,
How much does it cost to run an event like this? We here in the FingerLakes area are looking into this for the forseen future.
Let me know - PM me! Thanks!
Ellery
it doesn't look like TJ will be making the trip this year... I'm gonna see if I can talk the team into going...

:( due to lack of funds TJ will not be able to make the trip this year... Though you may see me up there... Who knows...
We'll just have to give everyone a run for their money at Beantown, Battle Cry, and River Rage...

Team 1071 will be headed up there this year.. I only counted 9 teams so far (hopefully it's not an updated list)..
If the list is up to date and only 9 teams so far then come on I know there are plenty of teams in New England that can pay that 100 dollar regisitration fee (hence get 10 people to pay 10 bucks out of pocket and drive up the day of the compeition.. MAX intends on driveing from CT that morning and returning home that night)..
We can't wait to see you guys there...

plus bus fee which I believe is close to a thousand bucks... :( and the mentors won't let "kids" drive...

we rent a Ford Excursion and pile into mini vans.. I believe renting an SUV or Van is a lot cheaper
the mentors won't let "kids" drive...
Hey, I'm a mentor and I've heard they won't let ME drive! Something to do with being a parent of kids in the school and what not.
On another note, I'm a little cheesed off that the k'bosh was kind of put on Mayhem for our team because "it's the day before graduation."
Um. Go to Mayhem. Graduate the next day. Where's the problem?
*shrug* We're going to Beantown Blitz and BattleCry. If my team isn't going to Mayhem, I may go just to watch.
Still pining for some off-season fun? Facing withdrawals after nationals!
Theres still time to sign up for Mayhem!!! Grab a robot, some friends, and $100 and you can participate too!!!!
Go to http://mayhem.chopshop166.com/ to sign up for the offseason fun on June 11!!!!
