i just heard that first will ditch the game and move to practical robots that can be used in every day life next year.

You mean picking up 20 balls and grabbing a 186 pound goal isn't a practical, every-day task? What planet do you live on? :p
In my town, they are working on getting a grant for a program inspired by first, but engineered for more vocational students. It would involve building a robot that would respond to GPS to cultivate fields and things of the such...it sounds cool to me...

Does that mean it gets all easier and FIRST goes down to a niveau where you only build a robot that mixes your milkshakes etc? That would be sooo boring!
I want a robot to make me a milkshake......

Sorry, but since I'm leaving for the nats tomorrow, it's too late now to get all the stuff we would need, but remind me next year a week before the nats and we'll build one ant the competition site, i promise...
