I guess by everyone else's standards I'm in Grade 12 (Senior year), but I'm really a first year student in the strange two-year Quebec institution called "CEGEP" (Collège d'Enseignement Général Et Professionel). High school is grades 7-11, CEGEP is sort of like grades 12-13 and then after that I can go to university, but I consider myself a college student. I personally don't like this system because it puts me a year behind students of my age if I go to university outside of Quebec (which I'm planning to).

Im a junior, so unfortunatly I only have one more year of FIRST.
I *think* I'm a sophomore here at VCU...
My credits at NVCC did some funny things when transferring, but I've taken ~ 80 college level credits.

It actually is elementary school, since middle schools/jr high all are a part of the elementary school district.

not necissarily. it just depends on where you go to school. i go to a Jr./Sr. High School, so we've got grades 7-12 all together in the same school, and K-12 are all in the same school district.
yay sophomores! ;)
it just depends on where you go to school.
too true. We don't really use the term "junior high" much here in Canada, so that's probably Oliver's reasoning :). I'm in grade 11, I think that's a junior to most of you guys :p (We don't use the freshman, sophmore, junior, senior names a whole lot either). It's quite common in Canada to come back for a sort of Grade 13, since it was not too long ago that we had one, and as of now I plan on it... so 2 more years as a high school-er, then of course many more as a mentor.

I'll be a junior in the fall at Purdue University (http://www.purdue.edu) I lost some of my credits when I transfered to Purdue, because aparently the IU standards are too low for Purdue, so I'll be a senior for 2 years.

frosh all the way, whooooo! i know everyone picks on the freshman and we are termed 'uncool', but on the other hand, i see so many benefits to being a freshman. for one, i have 3 years to go as a student on a team! yesss!!! having such a cool experience this year was awesome for me and i get to do it for a really long time! who needs sleep?!?
