Seing the NASCAR poll, The High Priest has decided to be a copy cat and post one of his own.

Have a nice day.

i'm very glad to see the off-topic spawned a new thread.

See, The High Priest does useful stuff sometimes.

David Kelly

i dont see how you can't consider it a sport. yeah it's rigged. it's good entertainment. and the athleates risk their lives to put on a good show.

David who screams out, "Rocky, Rocky, Rocky!!! i mean Austin 3:16 means i just kicked your a--... uh uh It's True It's True

EddieMcD

Would you please shut the hell up! ;) Yes, The High Priest is a Jerichoholic.

Oh, and have a nice day.

Haven't you guys ever seen the behind the scenes of pro wrestling. They have some really good choregraphers. That would mean NO it's not a sport. It's the perfect example of a male targeting soap opera.

EddieMcD

Well, yes Carolyn, you are partially right, but look at the reasons David gave as well.

Since we're sorta on subject here: The Rock is overrated, and it sucks that half the old WCW wrestlers are still on contract by Time Warner.

Well, the band Kiss risked their lives just as much as pro-wrestlers for a concert. Think about all the pyrotechnics. Does that mean Gene Simmons is an athlete? Yes, I did have a ticket to the last farewell tour Kiss had and it rocked!

EddieMcD
22-07-2001, 10:23
Wrestlers use pyrotechnics too. I don't see how pyro is dangerous if you know what you're doing.

And KISS looks like a group of pro-wrestlers with that makeup.

i suppose pro-wrestling could possibly be considered a sport...but only if you consider dancing a sport...cuz thats basically what it is.

EddieMcD
22-07-2001, 19:12
Depends on what type of dancing.

I didn't say that there was anything wrong with pyrotecs. I myself am a pyro and find it fun and entertaining.
Mike: but only if you consider dancing a sport...cuz thats basically what it is
I agree. When you go out clubbin' you get a great workout from all the dancing.

i like to take apart fireworks and put them in stuff and see what happens. i've found some cool websites with fireworks ideas. it was prolly my #1 hobby before robotics. i still enjoy playing with fire.

You should've seen me in chemistry class...

Tip: for a nice yet contained explosion, put Sodium in water.

mike o'leary
23-07-2001, 15:54
my chemistry teacher eventually figured out the best way to deal with me was to keep all chemicals as far away from me as possible...
also david, youre what is called a pyromaniac. nothing wrong with it though, at least as far as im concerned. of course, it runs in my family so im biased

before robotics, i was serously thinking about being a pyrotechnician (sp?). liking fire sorta runs in the family. all my friends call me a pyro and say that i'm obsessed. it's true but oh well...lol

it's only ok unless u turn to the DARKSIDE , which would be an arsonist

:D

(just had to post something....i'm bored!)

p.s. the pic could be a pyro's logo...lol

i've had friends that said they wouldn't be surprised if i turned into and arsonist. i am facinated by fire but i hope not to be that obscessed

Or put brake fluid in granular pool chlorine. But watch out! There is a high upward flame. Very dangerous!

EddieMcD
24-07-2001, 14:01
I'm actually designing a pyrotechnic sequence, and the high flame would come in handy.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to figure out how they do Kane's ring-pyro where when he forcefully drops his arms, the flames stick for a couple seconds, and slowly drop. I'd like to do the exact opposite of that (flames slowly rise and stick).

No. No way. No how. That's all there is to it. Btw, the arguement that since they risk their lives, it must be a sport doesn't work either. When you play tennis, you aren't risking your life, but you're playing a sport. Drug users risk their lives but I wouldn't call them athletes. Sorry for the sarcasm, I've been on a sailboat (aka, a real boat ;)) for week and had a lack of targets. ;)

Shw me any tennis player who can hit a Shooting Star Press, and then we'll talk.

mike o'leary
24-07-2001, 15:06
a shooting what now?

EddieMcD
24-07-2001, 15:12
Shooting Star Press: an inverse Moonsault.

mike o'leary
24-07-2001, 15:16
thanks, that was very helpful...

mike whos been abused by the 60 second rule twice today

EddieMcD
24-07-2001, 15:21
I take it you don't know what a moonsault is.

mike o'leary
24-07-2001, 16:03
i know what a summersault is though

EddieMcD
24-07-2001, 17:22
Well, a moonsault is a clean backflip off the top rope. A Shooting Star Press is essentially the same, except they are facing forward.

So a Shooting Star Press is a backflip from the top rope, but they are facing the opponent. If pulled off correctly, it looks really cool.

the stink face (if they still call it that) is a life risking move. It's when Rikishi Phatu rubs his huge a$$ in someones face. it's deadly!!

What about when they're running from the cops? That's almost like running track and track is considered a sport.
*HAHAHA still laughing*
Wadya think about that? Maybe you should spend more time on a sailboat, I'm not saying this to get rid of you but, so you can get more posts like this one out.:)

yeah, and if theyre running through neighbors yards, like they always do in the movies, then theyre sorta doing hurdles cuz of fences.

Carolyn Duncan

That covers the high jump too. And if they jump into a river it would cover swimming.
*still laughing at this thread*

You guys should check out Flaming Text (http://www.flamingtext.com). It's got a lot of cool banners, backgrounds, and flaming text you can dowload and change! It's a pretty cool site, N'Joy!

[QOUTE]And if they jump into a river, that would cover swimming too![/QUOTE]

If they find a boat, and start rowing. That would cover rowboating!! Or maby they could find a KiYak (sp) and that would cover KiYak-ing(sp)

mike o'leary
25-07-2001, 14:22
they could thow rocks at the cops who are chasing them and that would be like that track adn field event thing...the hammer throw is it?

If there was white water it would cover even more. And if they had accomplises they could have team rowing.
