Simply put, Whats Your Summer Job? or what do you plan on doing for the summer?
I found out today that I'll be working up at Rutgers in the Dept of Nanomaterials Science Engineering, hopefully researching Fiber Optics, as I found out today.
So what are you people doing/Planning on doing?

I just spent January-June being a coop within Pratt & Whitney Commodity Integration Management; therefore, I get to spend my July & August being back in class at Northeastern. Woopee!!! I can't wait to be back in Boston from Monday-Thursday with only three hours of class a day! Three day weekends (and a three week semester break in August) will be spent working/hang-gliding here: www.flymorningside.com.
I love summer class sessions because I love the outdoors, and being stuck inside for a job is really tormenting (as I found out as an intern at Hamilton Sundstrand during summers 2002 & 2003). Boston is so sweet during the summer too. There are festivals, free Shakespeare in the Common, symphonies by the Charles River, and warm nights to take walks with friends or go clubbing. Ahhhhh... can't wait :)

Right now, my options are: tennis instructor, coffehouse gal, or pharmacy assistant. Each has its own perks...but none are too forgiving when they have to compete with absence until June 25th (due to camps) and 6-8 hours per day of tennis playing/training.

This is my 3rd Co-op at Drexel.
I am working for Johnson Matthey, Inc. in their precision coating devision. They coat catalytic converters (thing that cleans up the exhaust from your car's engine). I am a Project Engineering Co-op and I'm helping plan for a new automated line that won't get built until after I leave :( . Oh well.
As this is my last year of college - are there any professionals that want to hire me for a 'real' job? I graduate in June 2006 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering... though I will probably end up going for a MBA on top of that. Resume available upon request (PM or E-mail me).
I work at an apple orchard which is located across the road from my house. The work is demanding, but it is so convenient to walk to work!

I have an internship at Johnson and Johnson Pharmeceutical Research and Development in their drug forumlation department. My work will probably deal with doing tests on the actually pills after the drug has been "invented" determining stuff like capsul hardness and rate of dissolution.
It should be nice, great experience and good money. They even have an employee gym and running track for lunch breaks.

R&H Manufacturing
Monday through Thursday 3:30pm to 2:00am. :ahh:
Yes, thats right 2nd shift, but its not really that bad.
Well, the only time it was really bad was on my way home in the middle of the morning and my engine decided to bite the dust...
At least I get a three day weekend. ;)
Basically the company makes piping connectors and many many hydraulic parts for the Raymond Fork truck company.
I operate the band saw, CNC drill tap centers, and many other various manual/automatic metal turning machines.
I've recently started at The Cobalt Group here in Seattle, a dotcom that didn't explode like all the others. Hopefully, it'll be a bit more permanent than a summer job, though my current contract ends sometime in September -- I think. It's in the midst of being extended.
I do fun things involving vehicle inventory management, websites, and car dealers.

I'm a waiter in a VERY small town in Southeastern Virginia. I have fun too. I'd probably work there if I didn't get paid.
This is my third year at the ol' family business (well, one of them). It's called Husite Engineering, and we do tooling for prototype work. I do all kinds of things there, from sweeping the floor to data management to running CNC machines to driving forlifts.
I also have a few grad parties to DJ and I'm taking 8 credit hours (calc and chem) at a community college so I can lessen my load for next year.

I'll be working for my sister's dad's plumbing company. He has an office on the street by my house, so Janina (my sister, she's 29) and I will be driving to the office to work for a couple hours or so. I'll be doing filing, research, payroll, etc.
I only get paid $5.50, but it's all good. It's a job, and I do need the money for college. Boy do I need it.

Most likely: same as the past two years, working at the local ice cream store till I move to Waterloo for school in August!
Possible: working at a local science center, and at times getting paid to demonstrate our robot!! That would be so cool, we'll see.
I have applications out for three jobs. Driving an ambulance for a private transport company, unit secretary at the Birthing Inn (7p-7a) or cardiac monitor tech (7p-7a).

I worked at the Pacific Science Center here in Seattle -- the first science center in the world -- for 13 months. The museum was cash-strapped and is not always a glamorous place, but it simply made us find creative ways of teaching people.
If you're interested in interacting with kids and teaching for a dynamic, sometimes disinterested variety of people, it can be an amazing experience. I had to move on, but I really do miss it.
If you have the chance to work at a museum, take it! They're amazing.

I am currently working at the shop that I have been working at for the past two years. But unless work picks up, I may be looking for another job. I have been asked to leave early two days this past week because there was no work to be done. But since they still pay me by the hour instead of flat-rate, I made more than any of the other technicians any given day this week.
I did notice that a custom bike shop recently opened up in Herndon and I think I may pay them a visit to see if they are looking for or would like some help.

Well lets see Since Feb. 2003 I have been working at a local Skating rink in Mt. Morris, MICH. called Skateland Arena (www.skatelandarena.com). Its alot of fun, you get to yell at bad kids when they don't listen. The thing i do most there is run Laser Storm ( www.skatelandarena.com/lstorm.asp ) The best part about Laser Storm is the fog machine and effect (strobe) lights, o ya and the blacklights. Sometimes i be havin brain farts and forget that the fog machine is runnin, every time that happins it gets so foggy in thier you can not see 2 feet in front of you. one of my managers thinks it funny, but the other 2 hates it (i have 4 managers). The funny thing about workin at a skating rink is funny hours, one week you might have over 30hrs, a week later you might only have 15hrs. and thats basicly it.
HAVE A NICE SUMMER :p

Summer job....
well, I do it now, but I'll be doing it in the summer, so I guess it counts.
I technically classify as an A-1. If you know what that is, I congratulate you. If not, here is what I do-
Audio Tech. I sit behind a 60 channel board and turn little knobs for hours. Sometimes It's boring, depending on what type of Band I'm running tech for. Some, however, are simply astounding.

I've been hired by my old high school (I gradutated from there last year) along with some robotics friends to design and install automatic blinds in some of the classrooms, as well as ceiling-mount speaker systems. The idea is to have everything controlled by a microprocessor in each room, and then control each of these (ethernet and IP capable) processors through the school's W/LAN.
So teachers will be able to whip out their wireless tablet PCs, hit a button, and the blinds will come down, the sound system and LCD projector will come on, the screen will drop from the ceiling, and the lights will dim.
It's a great job, considering it's probably something I'd do for free just for the fun of it.
I started a summer job at the engineering section of the navy at the ship yard in philadelphia. It's pretty cool so far.
I'm also working in the dining room at Foulkeways, an assisted living facility.
it's a good variety

I'm working in Purdue's College of Engineering - Strategic Planning and Engineering Advancement office. Roughly translated, it means I'm working for Purdue University and the Boilermaker Regional doing miscellaneous tasks (redrafting proposals, creating timelines and organizing feedback, and ensuring the Boilermaker Regional is just as outstanding and well-planned as it was this year).

iiiiiiiiiiiiiii...
work at National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)! ^_^ I'm an intern/apprentice with the NASA Summer High School Apprenticeship Research Program (SHARP) at Kennedy Space Center (KSC). My "job" is pretty cool, its basically the job that gives everyone else out at KSC a job (if that makes sense... i'm keeping it vauge, sorry ^^; )... but it can get tedious at times (i can only take sitting at a computer all day for so long...). However! When i go on Tours and stuff with the rest of my SHARPie buddies, and come home with pictures like this one (http://fs7.deviantart.com/i/2005/167/8/4/Crawler_by_Ayino.jpg)... it makes it all oh so worth it. (that pic, btw, was taken last Wednesday at Roll-out. Return to Flight (STS-114)'s window is scheduled to open July 13th... oh! and guess who gets to be on site for the launch!? XD eeee -excited-) Also, i found i work down the hall of some of my mentors that i work with during the build season and competition season, so whenever i have time off, i can just take a small detour and visit them! ^_^

Right now I am cooking at the New Hampshire Fishercats (http://www.nhfishercats.com/) stadium. The fishercats are the AA affiliate of the Toronto blue jays.
At the end of October I leave for Navy Boot camp.

Lobstering, oh the joys of getting up at 2 AM, to save money for my video camera and maybe an eventual Mac iBook.
As much as I hate not having any money, I love not working even more. So I'm spending this summer doing what I love. Playing guitar, but not just playing guitar, I'm trying to work on my songwriting skills.

I just got invited to go to Cornerstone University's Journalism Institute as a Student editor for about a week and they're paying me nicely to come for free.
