www.spoono.com is a decent one for general web design tutorials. They link to lots of other good sites, too.

HTML, XML, JAVA, and a whole lot more... This site lets you try the code in real time as you learn it.

Good for those of us who not only want to learn how, but actually why it works and what happens when you change it or add and remove components..
