This summer RoboEducators will be running a series of Robotics Training opportunities using Vex. We are going to be running our flavor of it at Contra Costa College in San Pablo, Ca. It is of this one I now post

We are targeting it towards math and science high school teachers in the West Contra Costa Unified School District, as shown in our flier (http://contracosta.edu/robotics/Boot_Camp_2005.pdf). However, we are certainly open to others attending. Please bring your own Vex kit and register via the info on the flier.

I forgot to mention a couple of important things

If you are a teen: Since I am encouraging teachers to bring 0-2 students. You can see if you can be one of the students coming to the training. I have been in training all week looking at the new programming module and the new pneumatics module. We are hoping they are both ready for prime time, so we will have the modules for our training.

The other really cool thing is Grant Imahara of Team Deadblow (http://www.deadblow.net/) will be helping lead the Boot Camp. He built the electronics for the Episode I-III R2D2 and if one of the only three drivers for R2. (He also did electronics for the energizer bunny and drives the energizer bunny) and is a new Mythbuilders (http://www.mythbustersfanclub.com/html/grant_imahara.html) for the Discovery Channel's Mythbusters TV show

If you are a teacher/coach/mentor: Run the the phrase "robotics curriculum" through Google and notice how high the NASA Robotics Curriculum Clearinghouse (http://robotics.nasa.gov/rcc/) show on the page. Yvonne Clearwater from NASA runs this and Girls in Robotics Learning (http://robotics.nasa.gov/GIRL/) . She will also be helping us with the Boot Camp.

We are going to have fun.
