Well, the class of '05 is getting old, so might as well get started on the Class of '06. It's been my dream, my goal in life, since I started in Chief to start one of these threads and post in it, so here we go! We can always make an '06 Where are you Attending College? Thread later. w00t.

Applying to:

California Institute of Technology
Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Stanford University
Cornell University
University of Michigan Ann Arbor
Purdue University (Safety)

Some have rolling admissions, others have early action. Note: Early Action != Early Decision, thank goodness. Anybody else? Yes, I know school isn't over for everyone yet :P

Well I'm not really positive where I'm applying to yet...but I know some of the schools I'm looking at...

Definitly Applying:
RPI
UVA
UMD Baltimore County
SUNY Binghamton

Other Ideas:
RIT
WPI

"Safety" Schools:
Buffalo State Coll of SUNY
SUNY Stony Brook

The three SUNY ones are on the same application so thats why I'm applying to three. (SUNY = State University of New York if you don't know :) ).

Theres probably some others I can't remember right now too. :D

I haven't thought about it too much - I still have three weeks of school... :(

University of Nebraska
Southern Illinios University
Northern Illinios University
Univeristy of Oklahoma
Purdue (for buisness)-i prolly wont get in though but maybe
University of Alabama tuscaloosca
Indiana University

Im applying to all the southern schools and big 12 schools because of how good their buisness fields are. so far thats where im applying to. as long as i get outta rolling meadows...i am fine lol

For real guys, Michigan State is a great place to apply. They have a kick butt Engineering school, pretty much any other college you could want (plug: awesome journalism school: plug). It's really fun, plus there's a budding robotics team thats about to break into the FIRST fantastic teams and possibly a few starting up soon. FIRST is really growing at MSU and we are accepting anyone who is interested as mentors. Plus, it's big ten which means that all of our sports teams kick. :D

I have some thinking to do over the summer to finalize my list. My resume includes robotics, band, and eagle scout as well as a good gpa. SAT results pending.

Well since if I get a 3.0 gpa and a 21 on my ACT, I get a $32,280 scholarship to Oakland University, I think I am going to apply to OU.

I'm applying to Purdue University and will most likely attend there. I may also apply to Rose-Hulman Institue of Technology just for the heck of it.

I have an idea of where I want to apply, but I expect my list to change over the summer.

Tufts
MIT
Northeastern
Purdue
George Washington University
University of Rhode Island (Safety)

I'm debating whether to study electrical engineering/french (double major) or maybe journalism or political science (again with a double major in french), so (with the exception of MIT) all the schools I'm planning to apply to would let me study either.

I'm applying to two colleges, and looking at one college in particular to possibly apply to. Here they are:

Villa Julie College (top choice)
Towson University (second choice)
Hood College (possibility, safety)

Villa Julie has a great Business Communications Bachelors program...I'm so excited about it. I went to visit the college a few months ago, and it's so nice their. New campus, it's small and very easy to get around. They have another campus in Owings Mills, which is about a half hour from the Stevenson campus (15 minutes from my home), but they have a shuttle go to and back every half hour or so. =D

Towson's a really good college here in Maryland, and it has my major. My cousin Lisa just graduated for something similar to what I want to do, and she said it's great there, and so did my other cousin, Michael, for Computer Programming (or Computer Science, no idea which).

Hood College is a new college I'm looking at. It's really expensive to go there, about $30,000/year. That's insane compared to Villa Julie and Towson ($14,700 and $7,500 respectively). But they do seem to have a nice campus and good class sizes, about a 7:1 student/teacher ratio. I'd have to live there, since it's an hour away. Commuting would be too much. Taking the train is a possibility, but I'm still unsure.

=) Good luck to you all! Hope you get into the colleges you deserve to get into.

Well...since I left it out of my first post...

I plan on double majoring in mechanical engineering and computer science (with probably a minor in math since between those ill be taking math courses like :ahh: )

Every school I'm applying to will have that option. It was the only way to sort down schools. :)

Also, I'm planning on continuing being involved in FIRST while in college, so...schools that help a FIRST team get bonus points.

Jessica Boucher

For those of you wanting to go into business, don't be afraid to look at Babson! Our brand-new partnership with FIRST allows you to stay involved while getting a stellar education from one of the best business schools in the world!

Ok, now that I've done my alumni duty :), schools value students coming from far from home - and will pay top dollar for them, so don't be afraid to stretch!

Also, if anyone wants help weeding through the stuff that schools send to you to find out what they are really saying (esp. the business students), let me know.

I am attending Columbia College of Chicago this summer to study film and hope to attend college there. Eventually I plan on going to UCLA to continue studying film.
The only sad thing is although Columbia has a n "intro to robotics" class that can teach me the "general concepts of wiring" and let me "make a small robot that actually moves!" it doesn't have a FIRST team and isn't to interested in starting one... I guess that is what you get when you go to an arts school. :(

Eugenia Gabrielov
08-06-2005, 11:50
Ah, I forgot to post my major.

I'll be double majoring in Mathematics (the one that I really really want), and then I'm trying to decide between biomedical engineering and biochemistry for the other one.

nehalita
08-06-2005, 13:08
What i plan to do is go into engineering and decide from there. i have no idea what i'm majoring in but i like biomedical eng (ESPECIALLY nanotechnology), biochem eng, comp eng, nuclear eng, phys/chem eng (maybe)....so i have alot to choose from.

Colleges --
Early Action:
MIT, Stanford, Berkeley, Caltech

if i don't get into any, i'll do...
Regular:
Cornell, Duke, John Hopkins U, Carnegie Mellon U, U of Florida (safety)
[cornell, duke, jhu, and cmu are all on the common app so it'll be easier]

can't wait =D

Many of the colleges here offer FIRST scholarships - and FIRST has had several scholarships in the past that were not awarded due to lack of entries.

Go to http://www.collegiatefirst.org and find out if your school of choice has a scholarship or not. You can also look and see if your team is affiliated with FIRST (and if so, what teams). Research your options before you make a decision-- although all of you are smart enough to do so, I thought I'd throw in this friendly reminder. :)

Whaaa? I know that at least this year, Stanford's early action required you to sign a form (and your guidance counselor) stating that you are only applying to one early action school. Harvard was anal in this manner too. Hence why I applied to MIT/Caltech early action instead - the tech schools don't care whether you apply to more ;)

Just a head's up, just because those 4 schools you listed are on the Common App doesnt mean they won't each hit you with a bunch of extra essays. I thought the Cornell app was too long and since I was on the fence about applying there in the first place, I decided to bag it just 'cause it was too many essays and I had bigger fish to fry. Since you are applying to alot of schools, make sure you figure out ALL of the essays you will need to write and start them early!! I thought I was off the hook when alot of my schools used the Common App, but most of my schools asked for an additional essay.

FYI, I go to the University of Delaware for ChemEng. I chose UD over Carnegie Mellon (which was, ultimately, my second choice school). It was a great decision, so if you are thinking of ChemEng or those two schools in particular, feel free to hit me up!

Score!

I really like seeing that all of these people are showing an interest in Purdue, its a great school for all sorts of majors and it is pretty well recognized by employers nationally (one of the advantages that some private schools cant give you).

Like Amanda said above, there is plenty of scholarships available through FIRST, so be sure to apply for the Purdue FIRST Scholarship next year.

i hope the class of 06 gets into their school of their dream....so i feel a lil stupid that i never put down any of the schools you all mentioned but that's okay...i'm headed to college so tis all good...right?!?!

great schools ya'll picked though

well good luck....enjoy the college essay writing (i managed to not have to do a single essay for any colleges..only 1 essay for a scholarship :D )...read over them carefully... grammer and spelling always fun to check...

don't forget about those back up schools...they could be the school you end up at...and if you really don't know where to go stay in state and save your rents and yourself some money...

and do all the scholorships you can... find them and ask your guidence department....

recommendations...ask right away...your teachers have enough work to deal with...and make copies so you have it for other applications...

DEADLINES...ooo those are annoying but important.... set up a calender and star the due dates...paying extra application fees or missing you deadline for early action or whatever isn't very fun....

that's just my 2 cents in about this...but yeah like i said GOOD LUCK!!!!! ENJOY YOUR SENIOR YEAR!!! (i sorta forgot to do that a bit at times..... i never got senioritis...) and congrats for making it this far...only a bit longer...time flies for sure...

Going along with what Tiff said, MAKE SURE you start and turn in those applications as soon as possible. If you do so, you will more than likely finish most of your applications before school starts, which is definitely a good thing. I remember how stressed a few of my friends were during the school year because they had all these - you don't want that to happen to you.

Updated (as of...Sept.3):
Early Action: MIT, Caltech, GTech
Regular Action: Duke/Cornell/CMU/JHU (via commonapp), Stanford, Berkeley, debating on BU (any comments on BU? PM me)

I still can't decide what field I want to go to... either
a) EECS (elect eng and comp sci)
b) MechE
c) BioMed/BioInfo E (wetzel's gotten me very excited about BioInformatics -- ask him about it!)

I deviate between these three -- I was set on BioMed until the summer and now I'm just stumped. I just don't want to get bored, I want to get into something hands-on and I want to go into a fresh field -- I plan to get my doctorate eventually and since I'm going to dedicate so much of my time to a field, I want it to be one I love. If anyone has any opinions or advice for me, PM ME, I'd love to get feedback.

So what am I doing?: Finished all of MIT app (minus two optional essays), Did most of CommonApp (minus one or two essays...) but still have to do the additionals, Need to look at Gtech and Caltech's app, studying for SAT and retaking SAT2 (phys and chem) in nov.
What is everyone else doing? How far have you gotten?

im applying to u of mich engineering first. and if that goes well im done. if not then ill scramble to apply to Rose-Hulman and michigan tech and more if i really need it. i was hoping to send these out during next week... still working on my essays. and gotta talk to my counselor. who is too busy looking after the freshman. i think she should be looking at the seniors before bothering with the freshman tho. pisses me off.

I made a quick list for my dad before, so we could start getting things in order. I took out some of my "Reach" schools(UC Berk, USoCal) and just kept all my safe bets.

1. Michigan
2. Purdue
3, Boston Univ.
4. Rochester Inst of Tech
5. Univ. of South Carolina(actually moving up fast in my book, possibly #3)
6. Northeastern
7. Waterloo
8. Clarkson
9. Univ. of Delaware
10. Univ. of New Hampshire
11. Worcester Poly Inst
12. Rutgers
13. Stevens

Ill apply to the schools mostly for engineering, but i have the feeling ill switch into a Business Management type deal soon. My major goal in life is Sports Management, either General Manager of a team, Coach, Scout, or Agent.
So all the Heavy based engineering schools are dropping down fast, and the schools that tend to be split withtheir majors, are rising fast.

05-09-2005, 13:57
I am applying to .....
Notre Dame (let's go i-rish!)
Harvard
Columbia College
University of Wisconsin - Madison (safety)
St. Mary's College (out-of-state-with-lots-of-scholarships-and-ND-football safety)

I'm still looking at Stanford and Yale. I love the fact that they both have strong research programs (even though neither holds a candle to Madison in terms of Genetics) but I am nonplussed by their lengthy applications. Call me lazy, but I simply have too many classes and activities outside of school right now to be concerned with essays up the wazoo.

We'll see though. Aside from essays, I have completed nearly all of my applications. I just don't have any blazingly good ideas off the top of my head right now.

I'd like to note that it would probably be best to stay out of the California public school system (UC and CSU) if possible. The budget problem is getting pretty bad. I've heard that the UC system is fairing better than CSU though. UC Berkeley is UC's flagship school, so they're probably doing alright. There was some talk awhile back about San Fransisco State cutting their entire engineering program. I don't know what happened though.

I go to San Jose State and it's not pretty. The place is becoming seriously overcrowded. I need to get to school before 8 just so that I can find parking. Less money, however, means fewer classes. More students and fewer classes is a bad combination. I have to be there before 8, but I couldn't get any early morning classes, so I sit around for a few hours. Two semesters ago, they even cut some of the smaller majors (ie Russian and some other languages, not a big loss I guess). Some of my professors stopped handing out syllabuses (syllabi?) and handouts because their paper budget was cut back. After doing teacher evaulations, a lot of them would make a big deal about getting all their pencils back. One of my physics professors made a comment about needing to get some lab equipment calibrated, but not having the money to do it. Through all of this, tuition is still on the rise. Not that I'm complaining, it's still pretty cheap.

While the state school system is in trouble financially, they're still the best public schools in the nation. From what I've heard, once you get into a UC, you're fine. The problem is it's increasingly hard to do so. I haven't heard such good things about the CSU's, though.

I haven't heard such good things about the CSU's, though.I don't know about the regular CSUs but as far as I know the Cal Polys are doing okay. At Pomona, they are building a 13 million dollar parking structure right now. And the grounds upkeep is phenomenal. They are huge on landscaping there.

For classes at Cal Poly Pomona, it has been a slight bit hard to go by the flow chart for what classes I'm supposed to take. You don't get to pick your professor or time of the class because they fill up really quick. You have to pretty much take whatever you can get. Anyway, I have always been able to get a full course load and it isn't like I've had to take any filler classes that don't count for anything related to me. So far I've had instances where I can't get what the flowchart recommends, but I can take something else further ahead on the chart instead. And I haven't had to add any classes either, I've been able to get a full schedule in pre-registration.

So, I wouldn't say it's too bad at the Cal Polys, at least not yet. There are some classes that there aren't enough of for the demand, but it is manageable.

Cory

I don't know about the regular CSUs but as far as I know the Cal Polys are doing okay.

The CSU's are pretty much all seriously impacted. I know people who are going to take 5-6 years to complete their education as a result.

Still good schools, but something to keep in mind.

Well lets resurrect an old thread. Who got in where and where did you actually end up applying to.

I applied to:

West Virginia University.

So far ive only been accepted to Purdue, but seeing that its my number two school, i cant complain. :D

DarkJedi613

'Cause I live in New York and Michigan is far away. :p

Hmm...my list has changed a bit. Here's where I applied (and I'm all done with applications, woohoo!). I'm still planning on doing Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science, however. :)

RPI
UVa
UDel
WPI
Cornell University
Clarkson University
University at Buffalo
Binghamton University
Stony Brook University

(In order of where I want to go). And yes I know its a lot - I ended up adding Clarkson, Cornell and WPI only a few weeks ago and ended up not liking Binghamton University's program after I had applied there.

I haven't been accepted anywhere - didn't apply "Early Action" nor "Early Decision" anywhere. I'll update you all in April. ;)

Update:
I'm thinking of applying to:

University of Michigan - Ann Arbor (Engineering school) - Still Waiting
Kettering - Accepted
Lawerence Tech - Eliminated
Michigan Tech - Accepted
Michigan State - Eliminated

I am most likely going to attend Kettering. Regardless of other acceptances. They gave me the $30,000 scholarship, so that helps. I'll also be applying for the FIRST scholarship for Kettering. I really liked their campus size. It's location I can get over though (Flint has a bad rep).

I'm concerned about what's going on with my UMich application. I submitted it probably two months ago, but it says that the application is incomplete. Through the Wolverine Access system (and an email from UMich) that they are missing my test scores (in my case, my ACT scores). Just to be sure that they had my scores, I went to the ACT website that the UMich email notification said to go to, and I paid for another copy of my scores to be sent to them. Two weeks later now, it still says that they are waiting for my scores. Anyone else have this problem with UMich? I'm going to call admissions on Monday, I'm getting a bit fed up.

I actually just got my Michigan Tech acceptance letter today in the mail. I really only applied there for fun (the app was free and no essay, so why not?). I'm barely considering it, because it's much too far from anywhere.

DarkJedi613
03-12-2005, 23:55
Which kind of report did you have sent? It seems like ACT is rather slow at sending this stuff - i.e. it takes a few weeks to send stuff. Here's quoted from their website:

* REGULAR REPORT is a complete report and is normally processed within one week after receipt of your request. These reports are delivered in the next processing cycle requested by the college or agency to which you are requesting delivery, at least twice a month.
* PRIORITY REPORT is normally processed one working day after receipt of your request and usually delivered three business days later.
* MAILGRAM REPORT is normally processed one working day after receipt of your request and usually delivered one to two business days later.

So basically the first is 1 - 3 weeks, the second is 4 business days, the last is 2 - 3 business days.

Source (http://www.actstudent.org/scores/send/costs.html).

Spring Arbor - Accepted (not really surprised mind you)
GVSU - Accepted (again, not really surprised)
Valparaiso University - Accepted (this makes me happy)
The Most likely scenario:
Attend GVSU freshmen year and then transfer (hopefully) to Valparaiso. I can't afford to go much out of state with one of my older sisters is still at Oberlin college and considering Grad school. Plus I get more out of my AP credits if I go to GVSU, however I really don't want to bother with transferring credits if I have to. While the credit would be nice, I won't object to having to take the classes again. Plus, Valpo has a Professional Writing major that they've only had for a few years now that I'm interested in.

Eugenia Gabrielov
04-12-2005, 17:33
A note on Indiana schools...right now, they're trying really hard to get people in the state and keep them in the state. So if you tell Valpo about your situation, you might actually get a sizeable financial aid package.

UPenn (Wharton and more specifially Huntsman school of International Business)

Regular decision (in no particular order):
Yale
Brown
Washington University in St.Louis
Brandeis
George Washington University
Emory University
Northeastern

and possible McGill (contacting them regarding some info first)

I'm applying to the mechatronics engineering program at the University of Waterloo. I figure it'll be cheaper to stay in Canada for the undergraduate degree, but I'll probably want a graduate degree from one of the major tech colleges in the States (plus there's the fact that I haven't taken the SATs).

Safety schools:
Concordia
McGill

and possible McGill (contacting them regarding some info first)
I've heard that McGill's not all that it's cracked up to be; an abnormally large number of students tend to transfer to Concordia, Montreal's other English-language university, after their first year.

Considering that I finally finished all of my applications and heard from another one of my schools, I figured that I might as well update my list...

UW - Madison (accepted)
Saint Mary's - Notre Dame, IN (accepted, $48,000 scholarship)
Notre Dame - Notre Dame, IN
Columbia University - NYC
Harvard
Stanford
Yale

They're all regular action, and, as far as I know, I won't be hearing from any of them before March 30th. Huzzah!

Well, so far I have heard from 2 out of the 3 schools that I applied to early action:

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (accepted, $60,000 scholarship)
Worcester Polytechnic Institute (accepted, $53,700 scholarship)
University of Miami - College of Engineering (will hear back by Feb. 1st)

I am not sure which out of the three schools I am most interested in attending, but I am leaning toward UM. We will see what sort of financial assistance they will offer me.

In terms of where else I might apply for regular decision -

Cornell University
Carnegie Mellon
UCONN
Clarkson University
Georgia Tech

The only reason I did not apply to these other 5 schools early action was because there are one or more factors that I see as deterrents for wanting to attend those schools. Cornell and Clarkson are just too darn cold and out in the boonies for my liking! Carnegie Mellon sounds amazing, but I get the impression that it is very academically competitive. As for UCONN, I like it, but I don't love it. I spent a week there this summer at an engineering camp, and I was extremely bored half the time. Plus the campus isn't very pretty and it seems a little on the big side. Georgia tech sounds great, but its in the middle of a big city and I would prefer a more suburban environment.

The three that I applied to early action are by far my favorites because:

1) The quality of their academic programs is outstanding
2) Classes are taught by professors, not TAs
3) Professors are accessible after-hours for personal help
4) Numerous opportunities exist for undergrad research, internships, co-ops, and study abroad
5) All three universities take pride in their "hands-on, early on" approach
6) All three universities have displayed a sincere concern for each student's well being and foster a nurturing atmosphere

As I said before, I am currently leaning toward UM, mainly because it offers the full spectrum of majors as well as those in engineering. This is important to me because I want to be able to continue to study non-engineering related fields that I am also interested in, such as foreign language and art. Plus, I wouldn't have to worry about transferring to another school if I decided not to major in engineering. I am also considering a dual major in ocean/atmospheric science as well as engineering, and UM has a fantastic school of ocean and atmospheric science.

Good luck to everyone! I am looking forward to hearing more updates from all of you.

I was really hoping to get into University of Michigan, but was unable to get into it so I have decided to go to Western Michigan for two years. I am then going to hopefully transfer to Michigan after two years if everything goes as planned.

I have applied for FIRST scholarships and i would like to hear from them before i make my final decision, but i have no clue when the decisions are revealed, does anyone here know when most colleges send in names of the scholarship recipients ?
it would be nice to hear from them before may 1st, which is when most of my enrollment decisions are due.

When I got the WPI FIRST Scholarship, about 2 weeks before nationals I found out I received the scholarship. Give it a couple more weeks and you should know.

and I wanna go into aerospace engineering :)

I'm Class of 2008, but i'm thinking about Aerospace Engineering with
U of M (in state so it won't be that expensive)
and Purdue (out of state making it costly, but more likely i'll be accepted to).
I'll also apply at some other schools but Aerospace Engineering isn't offered that widely.

I've also thought about Caltech and MIT just for fun becuase I doubt I'll be accepted (i'm smart, but no Einstein). I'd apply at schools like MSU and Michtech if I was gonna go into Civil Engineering, but I'm leaning more towards Aerospace.

I applied to:
MIT
URI
Northeastern
Tufts

I was rejected at MIT, accepted at URI and Northeastern, and am still waiting to hear from Tufts. URI is offering me full tuition and I'm very interested in their International Engineering Program, but Northeastern is offering me a $16,000/yr scholarship and I also applied for the full tuition FIRST scholarship. I'm very nervous right now, trying to decide where I want to go next year (I'm really not that interested in Tufts anymore).

I got accepted to Towson University...
I didn't end up applying to Villa Julie College, so yeah.

So yes, I am very happy. Now onto scholarships up to my eyeballs!

I just might attend UC Davis so that I can say, "I got a FIRST scholarship to this school!" Berkeley might be out of my reach financially, and I'd only attend WPI if they gave me a full-ride tuition scholarship. At my current standpoint, my parents are pushing me toward UW.

Applied and Accepted to:
University of California - Davis
University of Washington
Worcester Polytechnic Institute
Oregon State University
University of Oregon

...and Still Waiting for:

UPDATE:

Rejected by Swarthmore and wait-listed by Johns Hopkins
Now I'm really nervous about getting a letter from UVA (my first choice)
It makes you mad to see all of your hard work on college apps given back to you in a single letter, but I those two weren't high on the list, and I have admission to VA Tech and UDel, both great schools that I am seriously considering.

Keep the updates coming!!

Summary so far:

MIT - Denied
Yale - Denied
Purdue - Accept
U Mich - Accept
Northwestern - Accept
Cornell - Waitlist
Stanford - ???

I leave you with this...

Dear Admissions Committee:
Having reviewed the many rejection letters I have received in the last few weeks, it is with great regret that I must inform you I am unable to accept your rejection at this time.
This year, after applying to a great many colleges and universities, I received an especially fine crop of rejection letters. Unfortunately, the number of rejections that I can accept is limited.
Each of my rejections was reviewed carefully and on an individual basis. Many factors were taken into account - the size of the institution, student-faculty ratio, location, reputation, costs and social atmosphere.
I am certain that most colleges I applied to are more than qualified to reject me. I am also sure that some mistakes were made in turning away some of these rejections. I can only hope they were few in number.
I am aware of the keen disappointment my decison may bring. Throughout my deliberations, I have kept in mind the time and effort it may have taken for you to reach your decision to reject me.
Keep in mind that at times it was necessary for me to reject even those letters of rejection that would normally have met my traditionally high standards.
I appreciate your having enough interest in me to reject my application. Let me take the opportunity to wish you well in what I am sure will be a successful academic year.
SEE YOU IN THE FALL!
Sincerely,
Paul Devlin

Update: Rejected by UC Berkeley. Woo-hoo! One less decision to make! Seriously, my parents are strung over whether I should attend UW or UC Davis (read: which one they can afford), and I personally will make the decision on the last day of April. XDDD

I've decided that I am going to stay on the Wash U. waitlist (It is only 18 hours away by car :p ), but now I have to decide between McGill and Brandeis so anyone got any advice?

(I am going into international business)

Brandeis I would be hopefully doing a 5 year BM/MBA but there are no gaurentees that one will get into that program during their junior year.

McGill I got into their International Business Managment program but switching out of it is not recommended (if i were to switch majors).

Once again, any advice would be much appreciated

Applied:
Vanderbilt-Accepted with an absurd amount of need based aid. Now I must go see this. I was not planning on getting in here.
Syracuse-Accepted, lots of merit, some unmet need. This is where I want to go, and I don't think I will change my mind.
University of Delaware-Accepted, haven't heard about aid, was my first choice for a brief moment, but not any more.
Penn State-Accepted, no money, not even in loans. Can't possible afford it.
Uconn-Accepted, Aid pretty good, too close to home.
West Virginia- Accepted, but safety school.
University of Vermont-Accepted, but safety school.
Duke-Pending, I hope I don't get in so I don't have to worry about it.

Summary, I want to go to SU, I don't want to change my mind, I don't want to worry about the ranking of Vanderbilt's engineering department.

Congratulations to ever one on their acceptances, on your rejections, well I am sure you will have somewhere else to go. :)
