FIRST's experiment to replace winner's medals with crowns met with mixed reaction and was canceled after the first week of regionals.

According to a FIRST spokesperson, "The crowns made some people really happy, but they didn't realize how goofy they looked."

She is Ashley from Victor, NY and a member of Rookie Team 1559.

She loves robots, making new friends, and believes that robots are COOL. She received high marks at presenting "Applications using linear and non-linear hyper-extensions with applied close-loop feedback systems." She also won the talent portion of the contest by reciting the entire list of KOP in less then 1 minute; forward AND backward.
AND She can lead an awesome team cheer too.

During her reign as FIRST Queen, she promise to spread the word of FIRST throughout this land, have a regional in every State and better food at the Regionals.

I would like to file an appeal to the ninth circuit court. As previously noted, I work on Mars time. A Mars day (one sol) is 24 hours and 40 minutes. So midnight Saturday did not occur until 12:40am. If you will notice, my post was accepted at 12:35am. So I actually beat the deadline by five minutes. Based on that, I am requesting reconsideration of the entry by the judges.

Since there is no stage, this rule does not apply (note: further discussion on this subject will be moved to the YMTC thread "can a virtual contest have virtual rules?"). Also, I would point out that the appeal was filed in less time than it took to make the ruling. Besides, for those of us working on the MESSENGER (http://messenger.jhuapl.edu/) mission to Mercury, the day is 4221 hours long. So it is still last Wednesday. Plenty of time for me to make another entry, have a bad ruling posted, appeal it all the way to the Supreme Court of Time Wasting Endeavors, and still make it to breakfast. :)

Dave, there is no Billfred I-Never-Signed-Up-For-This Fairness Doctrine. Perhaps you're thinking of the Billfred Is Working Way Too Much Rule (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=310467&postcount=33)?

OK, I gotta take Dave's side now. Just because you have never heard of the
"Billfred I-Never-Signed-Up-For-This Fairness Doctrine" doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Based on some the rulings I've seen come out of the court system, the fact that you created the contest, the rules, the rulings, and serve as the benevolent dictator of the contest has no bearing on whether some other entity can claim jurisdiction and decide what you really meant.

As you may recall in "Morrison vs Martus", the court ruled that "an engineer with a hawaiian shirt can claim habeus corpus ludicrus and award himself points provided his vehicle is still operational on another planet and the vehicle is legally registered with the DMV in his home state, unless that state is Indiana whereby the vehicle must be weigh at least 120 pounds without the battery."

If it doesn't fit, you must acquit. So Dave should be awarded 1.8 points based on the gear ratio of his team's lowest speed in the 2003 competition.
