Alright. There is this site online known as www.audioscrobbler.com (http://Audioscrobbler) . It is a very interesting site. You get a plugin for the application that you use to listen to music. And then it takes the information and makes stats for it. It compiles your favorite and most listened to songs and then it even gives you recommendations that are derived from people with similar interests as you.

A FIRST group (http://www.audioscrobbler.com/group/FIRST) has been started. So once you make an AS account, feel free to join the group. [Oh how I love networking! =D]

So, check this out if you are bored and love music. I absolutely love this thing!

It also makes you part of this thing called last.fm (http://www.last.fm) which is streaming radio from users that you choose.

I know there is a thread (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38935) about a group for this. But there wasnt a thread telling what it was. So I thought I would inform everyone.

If you are at work and like to listen to the radio (like me). Listen to your Last.fm station. It is an almost identical site and it will submit the tracks you listen to.

Make sure you install the plugins after you join! That way we can see what your listening too!

A bit of a strange happening here this week... No, you haven't all listened to your favourite tracks 2147483647 times... A small "hiccup" seems to have occurred in the generation of the charts, and so it's all gone a bit Pete Tong.
Have no fear, your single plays of those tracks you wanted to keep a secret will soon disappear again as the problem is being fixed, and the charts will be regenerated.
Posting about this other than in this official thread will result in very unhappy moderators, and you will be frowned upon, you have been warned ;)

In other news, I hear the new site is swimming along nicely, which is always good :)

Given that every year there are long threads as to what music should be played at regionals, perhaps this could help offer atleast a little insight as to what people are actually listening to. Hopefully when that time comes this season, one of us subscribed to the FIRST audioscrobbler will remember to recommend from the lists what we have already deemed our most popular/favorite music.

I also thought of this. Since being part of the 'FIRST' group, it compiles what similar interests the people in the group have. If we could get more people involved in audioscrobbler, then we can know what people like and it could be a big help for those DJ's come competition time. :)

And I am happy to say that the FIRST AS group continues to grow. When I first posted there were only 11 members and now we have a wonderful 37!

Keep signing up you guys, you never know, maybe they will take our music taste into consideration for next years competitions! Or maybe even soon to come off seasons.
