That's right, an internet radio show just about FIRST.

Hosted by Me, Adam Richards and Conor Ryan, we'll go in depth in to FIRST and explore all aspects of the competition. We'll have special guests, tips of the week and other cool features.

Calling in from actual phones is something we're working on, maybe in the future. Our current priority is getting the basics done and getting the show off the ground.

well Ventrilo has been working best for us, we tried Skype but quality wasn't so good. And sadly google talk doesn't have a confrence call feature yet. Keep watching for our episodes.

Not to nitpick, but I think using the 'FIRST' in the logo as part of FIRSTcast is a violation of their logo guidelines. Can't wait to hear the first show.

Well Ventrilo was what everyone was using last night, Matt had a server handy. Its open source, and happened to work with my recording computer last night. So we're happy with it.

We've corrected the error with a temporary image until we can design a proper logo

You should try to get the FIRSTcast into iTunes, just submit your podcast's URL and iTunes will consider it.

Just a reminder, its a little more than 9 hours till the release tonight.

We've all worked really hard and we'd like as many people to listen, so if you can download it and make us very happy. Download details are coming soon, but right now I cannot confirm nor deny if the iTunes directory will list us or not, but www.podcast.openfirst.org will have links and how to download it. And in case anyone is wondering its gonna be a mp3 and about 15 minutes long.

Alex Pelan's blog (http://alexpelan.com/blog/podcast-rss-feed-template/) has a nice summary of the itunes xml tags you need to include based on an 'RSS Feed' I had created to get the iTrip frequencies out of the iPod Music list :D .

You don't need to have an iPod to listen to a podcast.


Any digital audio player or computer with audio-playing software can play podcasts..."Podcasting" is a portmanteau word that combines the words "broadcasting" and "iPod." The term can be misleading since neither podcasting nor listening to podcasts requires an iPod or any portable music player

Yeah we're going to make it available via direct download and BitTorrent in MP3 format.
