I guess I'll be going to see her run instead of the Canada's Wonderland event due to the fact I have to work overtime on Saturday.
$22 is an awfully steep price when your used to getting your robot fix for free.

Eh...I've been doing alot of overtime. Time and a half can pay for a Bills ticket it can payfor this as well. I'll choke up the money and check it out.

P.S. i just noticed that the tickets are good for BOTH days, it used to be separate tickets for the 2 days. that saves some money.

Can someone share some of the characteristics and specs of the robot. I'm just curious to know more about it since it looks so cool.

Robot Name: Tetracide
Weight Class: Heavy Weight (220 lbs)

Dimensions: 42" Equilateral Triangular base, 14" tall

Weapon: Three Pneumatic Powered Flippers

Drive train: 2 - 24volt DD motors; 1.4 HP total

Framing: 1 inch steel square stock

Armor: 14 gauge hot rolled steel plate

Design: The Triangular construction and flipper location makes it difficult to score a successful attack without the distinct possibility of the attacking robot being flipped

a few things Alex left off. we are running a 24 volt system, the drives are pretty straight forward motor chained to wheels. It is a 2 WD system with chain to each wheel and ball transfers in the front. The pneumatic system is 3- 2inch bore cylinders running 250psi at each flipper. the pneumatics are powered by an on board 20 cu-ft nitrogen tank holding 2200psi. We are using a custom built pneumatic manifold for our cylinder control. The electronics in this system is a 2002 IFI Issac 32, with victor 883's to the motors and spikes controlling the pneumatics. the whole bot is solid welded construction and weights about 220 lbs.

i am working on putting all the build photos together and there will be a gallery soon.

Wow...

Thats a very impressive robot. The website is great and the team looks very scary. ( :ahh: I wouldn't want to compete against the that much brain power :ahh: )

Thanks for all the info and good luck.
