Lessee...
Way back when, I had a slew of computers working in unison on a challenge from distributed.net (http://www.distributed.net). I had Lorraine (BillfredIndustries.com's ficticious secretary) Mark and Strom (after Sanford and Thurmond, since those two were state surplus), then a few others I can't remember.
My old Dell laptop was initially dubbed Dave (because, at the time, it was pimp), but I later dubbed it sold (on eBay).
For now, I'm working on "William Leverette's iBook G4" since I don't know how to change that.

currently I'm on Wuzza. My other comps are QuietHealer, and Tuxedo.
QuietHealer only puts out 2 dB, so the name fits
Tuxedo is Linux, so it fits.
No idea how Wuzza came about... I let my brother name it.

I'm afraid I'm like Kyle, I only call my computers names when they aren't working right. But if you really want to know what they are, I can post them on -www.curselikeasailor.grr.
Put I think I'll start calling my computer "Snoogy Woogy" just to be odd.

I don't know if graphing calculators count, but I named my TI-84 plus 'Hal 9000'. I don't really have any other names for any of the computers at my home, except when they decide to not coorperate. BTW, never let a computer know that you're in a hurry. Because once you do, they seem to do everything imaginable to make life even more difficult. http://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/images/smilies/30.gif

The computer that while not technically owned by me, no else uses but me is named Cecile in honor of my friends wicked cool guitar. Plus Cecile is just an awesome name.
My Desktop: Philip
My current laptop: Shorty
My old laptop: Fatty
Shorty because it looked short (widescreen), Fatty because it was fat and used FAT32, Philip is a Goats reference, best as I can remember.

An old Gateway 2000 that I was using for about 3 months, that's now trashed except for the box, was simply called R.A.G. or Rotten Apple G 0.33333 (complete with name 'sharpied' on side and logo of a rotten apple).
My old laptop, when its screen became no longer functional, the primary hardware was ripped out, and then put into a shoe box, was named C.R.A.P. or Cripppled Rotten Apple Pod (no G number of any sort was assigned, nor was there a logo for it).
Now, I have a newer Gateway and a slightly newer laptop. None of them have a name, but I would like to give them one. I'll have to think about it.

Aww, I totally thought it was a StrongBad reference. You should go with that.
I do not get to name my computer at work since it's on a corporate LAN and they'd probably be upset if I broke something. Our servers have pretty cool names, though, including Mystery Machine, Cobain, Darth Vader and Grand Moff Tarkin. Those are all internal machines, as best as I can tell. Externally, our customers' data resides on machines named after elements of the periodic table.
At home, our LAN computers use "kaiju" names -- Godzilla, Mothra, Orga and King Ghidorah, if I recall correctly. The laptop I use every day is Microsoft Asset # such and such.
I'm pretty sure my XBox has a name, too, but I have no idea how to get to it without plugging it into a LAN with another XBox.

laptop - Chaos
old desktop - family room (oh how descriptive)
wireless network for my room (that i set up) - West Side (we're in the west lodge of sigma, an "island" on campus, that's temporary housing)
my favorite has to be my brother's name for our network at home - Megatron
naming computers is fun, it's like naming a baby, but you can change your computer's name a lot easier than a baby's name

It's a bit more powerful than a 386 though. lol
It possibly could be from that, I don't remember which came first. me calling mine lappy, and laughing when StrongBad got lappy, or seeing StrongBad get lappy and laughing and naming mine that.

Mine is named Porkchop. My parents is Porkroast.
After I received the many parts my most recent computer came in, I noticed that the boxes the various parts had come in were severely messed up. Fed-ex had not been kind, and a family member didn't know any better but to sign with out checking the state of the boxes. So I had a bunch of computer parts that had been subjected to more trauma then they should have been.
I figured there was a 50/50 chance that something would die on startup, or with in the first day of running.
So I named it Schrodinger (http://www.phobe.com/s_cat/s_cat.html).
As it happens, the power supply did die.

(Preface: This isn't the worst resurrection I've done...)
I've got a pretty standard naming scheme at my house. I wonder if anyone can guess what it's centered around? Hmm...
Desktop: Zeus
Laptop: Hermes
iPod: Apollo
I'll probably change it around to another mythology eventually, such as Japanese or Norse, though the idea of changing it to Aztec mythology doesn't appeal very much to me, as I would likely kill myself trying to remember how to properly type Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli for a computer.

Although it isn't quite as bad as Aztec mythology, all of our computers at work are named after body parts, drugs, or other random science names. (usually they have to do with brains) It isn't that bad with the Neurons (our laptops), but some of the desktop names I can't remember, for example one is named after some complex brain chemical, the one I usually use is named acetaminophen. My computers don't have much in the way of names, my first flash drive was named ShutUp for a while, but when I got my second, I decided to go to a semi-alphabetical system. #1 is now named Aleph and #2 is Baker.

My laptop is named "sundial", back from the days when I was developping and testing the Sundial system. I've been too lazy to think of a better name to change it to.
On another note, has anyone noticed that FIRST seems to name dozens of their computers after scientists? If you do reverse DNS lookups on IP addresses in the 199.125.100.x subnet (the entirety of which FIRST seems to own), you get names like "newton", "bacon", "bell", "franklin", "bohr", "chandrasekhar", "copernicus" and "goddard", to name just a few.

...At home, our LAN computers use "kaiju" names -- Godzilla, Mothra, Orga and King Ghidorah, if I recall correctly...
...I'm pretty sure my XBox has a name...
Close Mads, very close.
Godzilla - My Primary Desktop, she's a powerhouse so it fits.
Mothra - Living room machine, got some kick but it's subpar compared to 'zilla
Megalon - Dell Axim X30H Pocket PC
Ghidorah - Madison's (defunct) Toshiba
King Ghidorah - Madison's yet unnamed new laptop ;)
Destoroyah - My Dell Inspiron 6000
Godzooky - My Compaq Presario 1700 (Does anyone get that?)
Orga - I think that's the old XBOX actually...
Rodan - The Xbox 360
Godzilla 2000 - Win2k domain server (under contruction)
The domain will be 'MONSTER-ISLAND' and the wifi SSID is 'monster'.
In the lab at school our servers were:
1337-CNT-GAME - CounterStrike server (yeah.. teacher never saw that one)
1337-CNT-FILE - Linux Samba server
1337-CNT-NIDS - Snort test box
1337-CNT-CDT1 - CD Tower Number 1
1337-CNT-CDT2 - CD Tower Number 2
1337-CNT-CDT3 - CD Tower Number 3
1337-CNT-CDT4 - CD Tower Number 4
1337-CNT-BDC1 - Backup Domain Controller 1
1337-CNT-MGMT - Primary Domain Controller
1337-CNT-MGT1 - Primary ScanTEK Server
1337-CNT-MGT2 - Backup ScanTEK Server
CNT is the class name, 1337 is well...1337 :) and we agreed on the four letter naming convention for simplicity.
I love naming computers.

we go with the names of people in the family usually, with a few exceptions...
Desktop: nate
Laptop: jeanettelaptop
W2K Server (MSSQL): caleb
File Server (HP dual processor P2 w/Compaq RAID 5 External Array): warehouse
Basement Media PC: mythbox (Was trying to set up MythTV, but gave me too many problems, so I'm working on setting up FreeVo now...)
Router: di524 (just the model name)
Phone Server: mp1000 (same here)
My router and phone server wouldn't even have names, but I had to give something to my DNS server...

My dad named them while he was building the network. We have 5 people in the family, but have 6 computers. But he refuses to get wifi so we only have 4 internet hook ups.
Desktop #1: Tommy (dad listens to The Who a little too often)
Desktop #2: Willma (not sure where it came from)
Desktop #3: Old Bessie (its old and slow)
Laptop #1 (mine): Roberto (i named it after my saxophone)
Laptop #2 (dads): Speedy Deamon (dad got a new one from work)
Laptop #3 (my older sisters): Ferdinand (she is very obbsesed with the story Ferdinand the bull)
Just wondering but does anyone else know that story? Most people give us blank stares when we mention it.

Ah. Once again, Wikipedia shows to be knowledgable. Wikipedia:The Story of Ferdinand (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Story_of_Ferdinand). A strange obsession indeed.
My families computers all have very boring names:

parents - The Dell(i know real original)
my moms work computer- That other computer(because i see it sitting there but never used

Well, I don't name any of my computers, but I manage a few at USC that are:
The Prestonia Group (named for people, items, and concepts in Preston College (http://www.prestoncollege.org) at USC)
Ken (1 GHz PIII)
Zelda (733 MHz PIII)
Gatsby (450 MHz PIII) (retired)

Well, if the University ever bought any such items, I've sure never seen them in inventory.
Bilfred if u get rid of computers as long as they aren't antient i will take them and put them to use.
I wouldn't mind some of these myself--but alas, they're not mine. They belong to the University; all I can do with them is either use them, give them a good use in the building, or send them back to inventory.
(Hmm...I wonder how hard it'd be to convert those to some basic web surfing terminals running DSL or something like it--seems like that'd free up some of our computer lab with their decent P4s for those of us whose computing requirements are more complex than Facebook. ;))

Posting in this thread isn't grave robbing yet, is it?
Anyway, after I upgraded my computer, it was renamed from "The Blue-Glowy S--tbox" to Cortana. The old motherboard was posthumously named Guilty Spark.
My thumbdrive is Gravemind and my external hard drive is The Ark.
Alas, I have no laptop, but when I get one for college, I will probably dub it Deja.
