As of now, 5 regionals are listed as full. (http://www.usfirst.org/frc/public/)

VCU - 54
Florida - 40
Detroit - 27
NYC - 28
Cheesehead - 26

Boston and Colorado only have 9 spots left, and I think those will go fast come the 27th.

Surprising to me is the only 2 teams registered for Waterloo and 4 teams for Sacramento. It may be a blessing in disguise as teams aim for those as a travel regional.

Where'd you see this? I couldn't find anything on the FIRST website.

It's a little odd to locate through the FIRST website.
The link is on http://www.usfirst.org/robotics/ on the bottom right you'll see
"View the list of Competition events here."

The Florida regional was full after about 3 days. Glad my teams are registered... Everyone wants to come to Orlando! Warm welcome to all the out-of-state teams.

Teams should still register to be waitlisted if they are interested in a regional that is full. There are slots for rookies set aside each year, that don't show.

My team is definitly registered for the 56 team mega competition.
Does anyone know why Denver, New York, and Detroit have so few teams competing?

I don't know about the others, but in the past Sac has always been this way.

There's a few teams from the Sacramento area that make it their first regional, while most of the Bay Area teams make SVR their first regional, and then sign up for Sac when the second registration period comes around, due to the fact that it's previously been in much lower demand than spots at SVR.

From what I'm told, Waterloo should be filling up really quick. Supposedly it's going to be really awesome and cool this year, I believe the quote was "not one to miss." My guess is that it will completely fill the second teams can register for a second regional, and that it will fill with some big name teams that will really step it up a notch.

The best thing going for Waterloo this year is Easter won't be happening on the weekend and putting a strain on their registration.

Having just spent 4 days demoing FIRST programs in the new Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford at two conventions, I have to say that this is the most beautiful venue - well worth a trip to the northeast... No more dragging toolboxes through the mud and snow! No more watching the screen to see how your team is doing because you're too short (like me) to see the action on the stage! Queuing should be improved. The public should be able to enter without going through the pits. Easy on and off two interstate highways. Hope to see lots of you in March at the new venue for the UTC New England Regional!

UTC is the place to be for 2006!

The new Connecticut Convention Center, where the UTC New England Regional will be this year, is awesome. I was also there recently for 3 days this past month with KathieK, and the new venue is great. Can you say huge? There is indoor parking, a huge space for a FRC and Vex Regional at the same time, brand new hotels right in downtown Hartford (including one attached to the new CTCC), loading docks right next to the pits, no ramps to get onto the playing field anymore, and of course, a beautiful convention center.

Did anyone else see the Teams Pending Column on here (http://www.usfirst.org/frc/public/) is it new or I've ignored it before. Well according to that 1 Team is pending to go to Rochester, bringing the FLR total to 19

And So far only 2 teams are registered for Atlanta that are eligable, 16 and 842, but 33 Teams are pending registration. good luck to all

Currently 739 Regional Registrations are in Yay!

I'm not positive but I suspect it may be related to the new payment policy (http://www.usfirst.org/robotics/2006/paytermschanges.htm):
"FOR ADDITIONAL EVENTS & THE CHAMPIONSHIP"

For 2006 any team interested in participating in an additional Regional Event or the Championship will not be registered for the event until FIRST Finance receives an acceptable form of payment. (Please see what are the FIRST Acceptable Forms of Payment Section below.)

When a team selects an additional event and/or the Championship - the team's selection will be put on hold pending receipt of the FIRST acceptable form of payment (see below). Once FIRST Finance has received an acceptable payment for your team, we will move the team's event selection from "hold - pending payment" status to officially registered for such event.

This new policy will ensure that all teams registered for additional Regional Events and the Championship will be fully funded.
