I'd not only cringe, I'd scream and run.

... actually, since I'm nerdy, I'd probably find a way to tackle it and shut/cut off the main power.

A Real mentor would show the kid how to patent it! Right after pulling the plug. And calling 911. Umm, and changing underwear.
