Hi. I am from team 1108. I was just wondering about lettering requirements for Robotics at the high school level.

Do you mean like varsity letters?

This thread (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38185&highlight=varsity+letters) might help.

As the thread he gave you eventually shows, lettering is school dependent. Talk to your robotics coach and/or the principal of your school to try to work something out.

Since you more than likely don't have varsity and junior-varsity teams, you might want to make it something like never missing more X meetings or find some other measure of dedication/contribution.

I wish more schools would offer lettering for robotics. It would boost participation.

Yes, part of your requirements should involve a minimum level of participation. Don't use a negative like "can't miss more than X meetings", use a positive spin "must complete X number of hours"

Good Luck

On team 48 this past year our seniors got letters, since we depend on your grades and academic record for travelling we used those as our base guidelines, if I remember correctly it was something like attend at least 2 of the competitions that we went to, and have been an active member for at least 2 years or have made a major contribution in your 1 year.

Our school has lettering for robotics.

Our team has a point system of participation, top %25 letter.

ok all you have to do is set up what your doin for the year have so many activites tell the students they have to go to a certain amount like 3 of 4 make them big then they also have to have a certain amount of hours logged for build season say 60hrs easy to get the need to also set up something by themselves or in a SMALL group have a certain G.P.A. as well get aproved by admin. and presto

our school does not have an offical letter, but we(the team) are in the process of getting a patch-type thingy that we can put out ourselves, not through the school at all.
