View Full Version : Web Competitors 2006

artdutra04

As the end of 2005 draws ever closer, many teams are now begining to fire up Photoshop and Notepad, to commence work on their new team websites. The 2005 Web Competitors Thread (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31866) had many wonderful team websites - let's make this one even better. Use this thread to list your 2006 Team Websites.

Discussion Rules (from last year's thread):
The guidelines are to limit discussion as this is a showcase thread more than anything. If you want to discuss an individual site or some design element, or FIRST's rules for the award (which as of this post aren't out), start a new thread.
See these links for website competitor discussions from 2005 (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=31866) and 2004 (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23571).

Post your website links!

:D Cool! A 2006 thread finally comes out. Anyway, this is a link to Team 1635's Website (http://newtownhighschool.org/technotics). The website is coded almost entirely by students, but there are some sections on it that are still under construction :o . Please take a look and give us some feedback :) .

587 should have one. Our code is done(ish) and it's just waiting for content (translation: the rest of the team to GIVE ME THEIR SOULs... err... profiles for the site and their pictures), and hosting (translation: the coach to finally e-mail UNC). Can you tell I'm agitated with my team? Anyway, when it's done i'll be sure to edit with a link.

I'm not sure if we competed last year, but I'll definitely submit the site this year. We've got a brand new layout/system going on, so it's pretty much new. Some work still needs to be done, but it's getting there!

Our site is definitely a work in progress, but I have worked and designed this completely from scratch (minus the forums and gallery). It uses a CSS based layout, and is turning out pretty good.

Team 806 will probably be competing this year. I'm still trying to work out the bugs in Mambo's code, but it has been totally redone from the previous years. At the moment, the only thing I regret is that no one on our webteam (aka me) has any knowledge of flash. Check it out at http://www.xhsrobotics.org

We're still trying to put together a student team to manage our website, but that's not to say we're not going to be in the running. As always, Woburn Robotics Online (http://www.team188.com/).

Team 272 will be competing for the 2nd year in the website competition. This year there will be a new site design thats currenty getting added and any bugs crushed before the season begins. Its less graphic intense than last year but it has resulted in better load times and ease in viewing. The new layout can be viewed at http://site.lcrobots.com; content will follow shortly. Any Comments, Suggestions, etc are all welcome!

i find a cool and fun way of making websites (especially for those more graphically based, such as i) is to make your base website, and as you continue to find new things, to constantly add things to it or replace things but basically it makes for a pretty cool website come competition time, i call it "webolution"

Hey Ami, your website looks pretty good :) just one thing...correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think that the graphic of the FIRST logo behind your team's logo is allowed as outlined in the FIRST Logo Standards ( http://www.usfirst.org/4vol/resourcectr/downloads/FIRSTlogoStandards_Q.pdf )
Other than that though I think it is very well done :)

Also, feel free to check out Team 1620's website at http://TeamRobolution.com which will be entered as a Web Competitor in the 2006 season! :D (ps. its still under construction...if you want to have a peek at the next version, go to http://www.teamrobolution.com/v2/newtemplate.html it's not 100% completed, but will be soon, and i'll put that as the main page soon...

Team 829 the Digital Goats will have a website. Only one mentor of the two mentors (it's not me) has any real experience designing web pages so she will be teaching each one of us. Go to warrenrobotics.com to see the .php version that is a proto-type. As we go along things will change as the team finishes each page. :yikes:

We're back at Philly this year, and are planning on defending our 2005 Best Website award.

I actually found most of the teams websites from the US First site. I just went to a regional, then went to team list, then clicked the link, and got the website.

I'm co-webmaster, but the Profile CP only allows one job title, so... yeah. I do animation and web design mostly.

Since the 2006 season is drawing to a close, and many teams begin posting their new websites around this time of the year, I started a new Web Competitors 2007 thread (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50051) for everyone to post their 2007 Team Websites in.

All teams should continue posting in the new thread. ;)
