We are very happy that Brazil has a growing FIRST community. I am glad to know you.
Its nice to notice the rising number of teams in Brazil, and I'm specially proud of having a partner team which lives in the same city that I do.
Though my team has already participated the FRC I'm a beginner on it, and I'm sure you guys are as excited as I am :D
Welcome guys

Its wonderful to see First becoming such an international sensation. I look forward to meeting you Nathan, the rest of your team and to see Tribotech again. How did things go at your off season competition for all of you who went? I know our team Representatives had loads of fun. Best of luck in the up and coming build season.

Welcome to you all. I have a question for you (please forgive my ignorance) - do you speak Spanish? Our team is developing an outreach program for the teams in South America for the upcoming season, and we have plenty of people who speak Spanish but I doubt if we can support it in Portugese.
Actually we don't. However, I guess the problem caused by it is not that serious due to the similarity of these languages.
Although there are much more people who speak english than people who speak spanish in Brazil, I guess that a mix of these languagues can be done in order to express something with at least a little of meaning. In other words, I guess we can comprehend each other even this way, speaking different languages. It just depends on the people you are aimming, they should have learned either english or a bit of spanish.
Could you keep me informed about it? If you don't mind
You can contact me by email or msn.

Welcome to the FIRST community!!
It is wonderful to see more international students. The more students and mentors that join FIRST, we learn more about our world and how wonderful it really is.
I wish your team and all teams good luck this coming season!!
on a side note...
My friend though who has gone to school in Brazil said that many know English, Spanish and Portuguese and learn even another language. it is simply amazing especially since most American students only know one language entering high school unlike the rest of the world.

To true.
If you speak three languages, you're trilingual.
If you speak two languages, you're bilingual.
And if you speak one language, you're American.

Hey Nathan! This will be my first competition too although my teams third. Don't worry about your english, I know people who live in the US who have worse English :-) . I wish you the best of luck in competition and just want to know.... HOW did you get all the money to come here??!! Hee hee, we're having trouble getting enough just to travel the state! Anyway, I'm Devon from team 1412. Pleased to meet you, and again, the best of luck. :D
