Our team has never been to the all female competition before and we are wondering how exactly it is run. Is it just like a regular tournament or what? We would love to hear the opinions of teams who have done it before. And out of curiosity, how many teams are planning to go? So far I only know the we, Team 23 North Farmington, are definitely going. Either way, I cant wait until Dec 3rd.

Yeah, the All-Female is exactly like the other tournaments, except it's *that* much cooler because it involves all girls! It's a lot of fun though, sure to be a great time with some great competition.
Team 573 is definitely going to be there, and I imagine that a lot of the other teams that actually have girls will be participating as well.

Mike McIntyre has sent out information to the coaches. Here are some highlights:

Only girls can drive, repair the robot.
Boys may carry the robot on/off the court.
Boys can only assist in repairs if they get a special exemption form OCCRA.
There will be 4 seeding matches.
Selection same as at the Championship.
No boys wearing dresses are NOT allowed to drive the robots.

33 will be there and hopefully do well we have to get the girls up to speed on some control changes. And does it have to be a female coach?

Will there be judges walking around talking to teams like at the regular competitions or is it more low key. Are there awards that are given, and if so what will they be awarded for?

yeah the judges are harder on the woman than the men. they ask every member what they did to the machine and how it functions. our team was on the radio last year telling thier story on am 950 so there will be many oppurtunities for the judges to get you :) :) ;)

Yup, the coach has to be a female student.

Good luck to all the participating teams, I'll see you there!

There are 14 registered teams; I do not have the list in front of me but I think I can say it from memory: #1, #50, #43, #469, #255, #23, #33, #47, #65, #245, #1188, #802, #573, and I'm not sure if the last team is #4, #2, or #94.

Yeah it was a very good competition. Congratulations to everyone and thanks to team 1 for picking 47 after a day where our drivers were kind of iffy so thanks on behalf of our whole team for picking us and believing in us. we had a couple of problems and it took the exsemptions from occra to get the girls set but it all worked out good it was a good season to all. ;) :)
