Congrats Michiganders, you've hit the 100-team mark, even with the down economy. Gail Alpert and others are working on a news article about FIRST in Michigan, and need to know the number of high schools involved in the state.
Some teams are registered as representing a specific school district, ex. Team 818 is "Warren Consolidated Schools." We'd like to know the actual number of high schools affiliated with your team. Please reply as soon as you can! Thanks!
Edit:
Specifically, there are some teams that don't list out their high schools, and these are the ones that we need the information on most, with regards to which high schools actually participate out of their district:
67- Huron Valley Schools
68- Oakland County Schools
217- Utica Schools
279- Toledo Schools
308- Walled Lake Schools
322- Flint Community Schools
326- Romulus Community Schools
858- Wyoming Public Schools
1189- Gross Pointe Schools
1227- Northview Schools and Forest Hills Schools
1286- Robotics Club
1322- G.R.A.Y.T. Leviathons
Also, if your team is affiliated with a school that is not in your team name, please mention that as well.

Beth - Gail talks to Susan many times a week. If Susan had the info, then so would Gail. I'd be willing to bet that not many team leaders responded.

Jack is exactly right. Susan and I are working on this together. I can use the team list, but it doesn't give me an accurate count. Susan sent out an email blast to the teams but I thought this might be a great place to post the question as well. I asked Alex to take care of it for me.
I am hoping to get a handle on this quickly as it really is a terrific news story. So all of you out there with multiple schools, PLEASE RESPOND!!!
201 - Rochester High School
245 - Rochester Adams High School
(I thought I might as well answer for both at once :) )
This sounds like an awesome thing to have an article about!

Hey! Another question to ask would be: How many teams are affiliated with your school? Example:
Goodrich H.S. - 70 and 494
Lisa Perez
10-12-2005, 15:19
830 - Ann Arbor Huron HS
573 - Brother Rice HS and Marian HS
1 - Oakland Schools Technical Center-Northeast (Since this is a school in itself, would you want the information on students 'home' high schools, as well?)

Team 1 would count as one High School, because that is the one they are affiliated with. Where the students come from only matters if their high school is involved in the specific team. International Academy is composed of over 10 supporting districts with over 20 high schools, but the only school actually involved with the team is IA.
Hope that clears things up.

Team 1506, Metal Muscle represents the following teams from Oakland and Macomb Counties:
Oakland Christian, Chippewa Valley, Notre Dame Prep, Stony Creek High School
862 - Canton High School
Plymouth High School
Salem High School
We also take anyone living in the area who doesn't go to the Big 3 schools. (Plymouth Christian Academy, Catholic Central, Ladywood, etc...) just because we think 70-80 students isn't enough. (Why can't I find a team to coach that is only 30 people...)

Team 67 technically encompasses students from 3 high schools -- Milford High, Lakeland High, and Harbor High. I believe that the only time we had a Harbor High student on the team, however, was our rookie year, 1997.
Not2B started a list of our schools but here is the official list of past and present schools involved with our team.
862's current membership is made up of students from:
Primary Schools:
Plymouth- Canton Educational Park, made up of:
Salem H.S. 2000-present
Canton H.S. 2000-present
Plymouth H.S. 2003-present
Secondary Schools:
Belleville H.S. 2006
Past Secondary Schools include:
Plymouth Christian Academy 2003-2005
Catholic Central H.S. 2004
Marian H.S. 2005
*Years are for FIRST seasons, not school years.
*Primary and Secondary schools refer to the level they were involved with our team. Primary schools have a lot of students on the team as well as help fund our team. Secondary schools have a few students on the team.

Team 1188 is currently listed as "Royal Oak High School". This year it should really be listed as "Royal Oak High SchoolS" as there are students from both Dondero and Kimball on the team.
Next year, the singular will be correct, as the schools are merging into one building (the current Kimball campus) with the name "Royal Oak". Kimball and Dondero names go away.

Team 858 has represented Wyoming Park and Rogers High Schools. I don't have any information on if this is still correct, but I haven't heard that it's changed either..

Team 85 has students from both Zeeland East and Zeeland West High Schools. At this time however, it looks like no students from Fruitport High School will be joining us as in previous years.

397- Flint Southwestern/Bendle

Alex the starter of this thread has requested that this thread be closed. Sue Lawrence was collecting the names of schools for a list to be used by the local planning group and by FIRST.
This is now complete (as complete as any list can be of this type) and the thread has served the purpose very well.
Thank you to all that have given this information.
I am closing this thread.
