HELP With 3D Studio Max Animating

Hi i am new to this site but i needs some help with my project. I am creating a 3d orchestra in 3ds max 7 and there is a feature in my specification were the user should able to point to each member of the 3D orchestra whilst they are playing which will then block out the rest of the orchestra to allow the listener to hear the individual instrument selected. The orchestra should appear in full animation whilst they are performing. If any one knows the technique to do this i will be very grateful.

3ds Max can be used to create videos, but you'll need a program like Macromedia Flash to add interactivity & the ability to select multiple audio tracks.

Are you doing this for the Autodesk Visualization Award?
