FIRST. If you are like most on Chief Delphi, your life is consumed by it. Your mind is obsessed with it. Your soul breathes it.

And what better way to articulate this pure devotion than through poetry?

How else can anyone truely express the evils of set-screws? The redemptive power of duct-tape? The true beauty of techno music? The insomnia of Kickoff Eve? Life without Mountain Dew (shudder)? That horrific smell of magic smoke? Or, Oh! How the soul aches to see that bot finally crated and shipped?

I mean, this is some powerful stuff here. It begs to be expressed! So let's hear your FIRST poetry! Traditional, Haiku, Kickoff Carols, Free Verse, it doesn't matter, just have fun with it!

Christmas brings presents,
Some New Year's parties are great,
But I just want FIRST.

Back home until Jan 27 means 3 weeks with the old team!! :)

Twas the night before Kickoff,
And all through the Nation,
Most team members were sleeping,
Dreaming about build season duration.

The programmers lay awake,
Tossing in their beds,
While code lines and sub-routines,
Looped endlessly in their heads.

The new kits were ready,
and in boxes fully laden,
All the parts were waiting,
For the new games unveiling.

While I as a mentor,
Both wise and mature,
Worried and wondered,
What I'd have to endure!

The clues have been given,
Speculation run riot,
I need to relax,
And find some place quiet!

I know on Saturday Morning,
On the stage will appear,
Dean, Woody, and Dave,
With motors and gears.

They'll give a great show
and wow the awed throng,
And an hour later,
Everyone will be gone.

Off to the workshop,
Let's begin right away!
The ship date is only
Six weeks from Today!
